Just Cause 4 Easter Egg Pays Tribute To Classic '80s Music Video

Just Cause 4 Easter Egg Pays Tribute To Classic '80s Music Video

We're still working on our Just Cause 4 review, but in the meantime, players have been able to jump in since its release a few days ago. So far, some players have managed to find some neat easter eggs. One in particular is a homage to a classic '80s music video.

When entering a certain half-constructed building in Just Cause 4, descending to the lower level brings a familiar tune and makes your surroundings look like they were sketched by a pencil. This is a reference to A-Ha's music video for Take On Me, which has a young woman invited into a sketchbook-like world.

In Just Case 4, a young lady dressed similarly to that character comes to dance alongside Rico. Watch the footage for yourself below, or go ahead and find it in-game. It's wonderful.

PSA: Company Of Heroes 2 Is Free On Steam Until Tomorrow

To celebrate Company of Heroes 2's fifth anniversary, Sega and Relic Entertainment are giving away the PC game for free on Steam

You only have until tomorrow (December 10 at 12 p.m. CT)  to grab it at no cost. The anniversary celebration is a bit late, as the game came out in June 2013, but Sega seems to be making up for it by letting you download the game for free.

Additionally, two DLC for the game, The British Forces and Ardennes Assault, are discounted on Steam until tomorrow. They are 75 percent off.

Reader Discussion - Do You Like Unlocking Characters In Fighting Games?

Reader Discussion - Do You Like Unlocking Characters In Fighting Games?

With the release of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, it's time for players to undergo a time-honored tradition: unlocking a bunch of Nintendo characters over the course of a few hours.

In his otherwise glowing review of Ultimate, Jeff Cork does point out that the unlocking schtick is getting old. "It’s an unnecessarily tedious and antiquated process," he said. Do you agree?

Personally, I'm kind of over it. I just want to play as Duck Hunt, Dedede and Snake already. The World of Light mode is okay, but I don't want to feel like I have to play it to unlock everyone. I know there are other ways to do it, but nothing I've seen is fast or simple enough for me to want to really engage with it. At the same time, there's a part of me that if all the characters were unlocked from the start, I'd be less motivated to play overall.

Shawn Layden On Lack Of PlayStation News: 'See You In The New Year'

Shawn Layden On Lack Of PlayStation News: 'See You In The New Year'

Although today's Kinda Funny Games Showcase had some interesting PlayStation-related news, there seemed to be a notable lack of announcements from the company itself. This was especially noticeable in light of the lack of a PSX show this year, where Sony usually has plenty of major announcements up its sleeve. However, that may not mean we'll be dying for Sony-related news for much longer.

Replying to a tweet from a fan and streamer about the lack of PlayStation-related info that came out of Thursday's The Game Awards show (especially compared to some of bombs Nintendo dropped that night), Shawn dropped a short but very meaningful message: "see you in the new year."

The tweet is especially significant in light of Sony's dropping out of E3, the other show where it tends to show its hand. Hopefully, we'll find out what the tweet means soon.

Tales Of Crestoria Mobile Game Coming To The West In 2019

Tales of Crestoria, the next game in the Tales series heading to mobile, has finally been confirmed to have a Western release, and we won't have to wait too much longer for it.

An official Tales of Crestoria English account recently popped up on Twitter, and has been posting character-based teasers for the last few hours. It also posted the first English-language teaser trailer for the game.

We don't know too much about Crestoria as of right now, but we have a rather basic outline. For one, sin looks to be a theme this time around, as the character teasers had a wanted posted look to them, with characters talking about something they did the world thought was a sin. We also know that, as a mobile title, there is likely to be microtransactions, as players who pre-register for the game will receive "summoning tickets" based on the number of total people who do the same.

PSA: Check Your Inbox For Your Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Piranha Plant Code

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate already looks to be everything fans could have wanted from a sequel, featuring an enormous roster of veterans, newcomers, and echo fighters alike. One new fighters we won't be seeing until later, however, is Piranha Plant, an unconventional fighter who, despite being a potted plant, has little feet he moves around with.

Anyway, if you've already bought the game, check your inbox. Nintendo has already sent out codes for those who've purchased the game digitally or and who bought it at retail and have met all the necessary steps for receiving a code. According to Nintendo, you can redeem the code now, although the fighter won't be available until "early 2019."

Of course, this code only entitles you to one fighter, not the whole DLC character pass, which now includes Persona 5's Joker.
