Capcom Teases Ultra Street Fighter IV Tweaks, E. Honda In A Turtle Suit

Capcom is working on a new update for Ultra Street Fighter IV, which will add new training challenges, additional online options, and changes to the game's balance. Also, it includes support for the upcoming Wild costumes. For the uninitiated, these are more than mere palette swaps; your favorite characters are going full-on furry.

Version 1.04 is arriving after the Capcom Cup, which takes place in San Francisco on December 13. According to Capcom, here are the high-level tweaks:

Those are all welcome changes, but the biggest draw for some may come with the addition of those Wild costumes. They're not free, but as you can see in the gallery below, their sheer insanity may justify a purchase.

Can You Name Super Smash Bros. Characters Better Than These People?

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U includes a huge roster of iconic characters, but it also includes some more obscure entries. Many of you could probably name each and every character without trouble, but what about random people on the street?

YouTube channel P Diddy sent Jenki around with a binder full of character pictures. (Almost) everyone nailed Mario, Sonic, and Pac-Man. Shulk, Mr. Game and Watch, and the Fire Emblem characters, well… those were a bit trickier.

Super Smash Bros. For Wii U Sells Over 490,000 In First Three Days

Nintendo is reporting strong sales for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The publisher says that the game has sold over 490,000 units combined across physical and digital in the United States during the first three days of availability.

This makes Super Smash Bros. for Wii U the fastest selling game for the system in the United States. It beat out Mario Kart 8 in our territory, but still has a way to go to dethrone the racer overall.

In Mario Kart 8’s first three days on the market earlier this year, it sold 1.2 million units worldwide. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U arrives in Europe on November 18 and Japan on December 6, so we’ll be waiting to see how the mascot brawler fares across the globe. The reported numbers do not include the rest of the North American territory.

Ubisoft Warns Against Day One Reviews For The Crew

Ubisoft is getting ready to launch its social racing game in just a week, and has today issued a statement about reviews for the title. In short, critics will not have access to the game until it launches on December 2.

“While we totally understand (hey, we read reviews, too!), The Crew was built from the beginning to be a living playground full of driving fans, so it’s only possible to assess our game in its entirety with other real players in the world,” the company writes. “And by other, we mean thousands and thousands and thousands of players – something that can’t be simulated with a handful of devs playing alongside the press. For this very reason, The Crew will be available to media to begin their reviews when the game launches on December 2.”

Ubisoft has had a busy fall, with the release of two Assassins’ Creed games and Far Cry 4 in just the past month. Far Cry 4 suffered from some problems at launch, including a crippling bug on PlayStation 3.

Halo Enthusiasts Are Recreating Halo 3 Custom Maps In The Master Chief Collection Forge

In addition to four full campaigns and every Halo map that appeared in those original games, Halo: The Master Chief Collection includes a map-maker. The Forge has been used by fans since Halo 3 to create custom maps and game types.

With the release of The Master Chief Collection earlier this month, a team of craftsmen have set out to recreate their favorite custom maps from Halo 3. A Reddit user by the name “GrammyOnReddit” (GrammyXBL on Xbox Live) has been doing much of the work.

The maps Trash Compactor (downloaded over 21,000 times in Halo 3), hide/seek town (downloaded over 58,000 times in Halo 3) and Jenga Tower (downloaded over 106,000 times in Halo 3). You can follow the group’s progress via Reddit

Halo Boss Apologies, Promises To ‘Make This Right With Our Fans’

It’s been almost two weeks since the launch of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Matchmaking problems and other issues have marred the experience, disrupting Microsoft’s biggest release of the fall.

Today, head of 343 Industries Bonnie Ross issued an apology to fans. “With the initial release of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, however, we have not delivered the experience you deserve,” she writes.  “I personally apologize for this on behalf of us all at 343 Industries.  Our team is committed to working around the clock until these issues are resolved.”

Ross says that the studio and publisher will make this up to fans, and details will come after the problems are fixed. “On the matchmaking front, we have encountered unexpected issues that were not apparent in our internal test environment and that have resulted in a frustrating experience, including long matchmaking times and low session success rates,” she says. “Within 343 Industries and Xbox, I can assure you that resolving these issues is our #1 priority.”
