Halo: The Master Chief Collection Gets Another Big Patch

about X hours ago from

343 Industries continues to conduct repairs on Halo: The Master Chief Collection. A new patch seeks to address a number of problems with matchmaking and stability.

Included in the new update are fixes to team balancing and searching with a party. The patch notes reveal some of the causes of matchmaking problems, including players being unjoinable after match-made games and at times after simply searching for a match.

Microsoft says that the 523 MB update isn’t the last, as additional patches will target other issues identified by the community. For more on the troubled launch of The Master Chief Collection, check out a recent statement from 343’s Bonnie Ross.

Holiday Warrior 11/27/2014

In addition to loved ones and roofs over our heads, we’ve gotten a lot of great games to be thankful for this Fall, and we’ll likely be spending a chunk of the weekend playing them. How about you?

Tim Turi (@timturi): I always look forward to this time of the year. As someone who has spent countless hours of his life playing games where delicious, fully-cooked turkeys are commonly found in trash cans and castle walls, it’s always exciting to see one of these things in real life. In addition to eating myself sick, I plan on using my time out of the office to play a ton of games. I have a strong feeling that Dragon Age: Inquisition will be syphoning away most of that time, but I hope to play some more This War of Mine, Diablo III, and maybe some Halo: Master Chief Collection if 343 Industries can get the servers up and running.

Ubisoft Giving Out Free DLC, Additional Games As Assassin's Creed Unity Apology

Ubisoft has confirmed that plans for an Assassin’s Creed Unity season pass have been changed a bit. The pass was slated to include the “Dead Kings” campaign, new missions, and an entire new game.

Assassin’s Creed Unity has been plagued with problems since its November 18 launch. The title has had a number of bugs and glitches that have impacted play, including one crash that is caused by adding friends to the in-game social list.

In a note to fans, Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat addresses the problems the title has faced and what the publisher will do to make it right for purchasers. Every player will receive the Dead Kings DLC free. Anyone who has already bought into the season pass will receive another Ubisoft game from a select list of titles, including The Crew, Far Cry 4, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, Rayman Legends, and Just Dance 2015.  Redemption details will be available soon.
