about X hours ago from

Resogun developer Housemarque has announced the final expansion for Resogun, entitled Resogun: Defenders. The pack will include two new game modes, new ships, and new planets with all-new artwork.

The two new game modes are known as Protector and Commando. Defenders will launch with a "major" content patch, A.K.A. "Challengers," which adds new challenges and feats across all game modes. The Defenders DLC and Challengers patch have been confirmed for PlayStation 4, but it's currently unclear if owners of the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions will receive it, as well. All of the new content will also be playable at this weekend's PlayStation Experience event.

Resogun: Defenders will be available on PSN in early 2015 for $4.99 and is included in the game's season pass. The core Resogun game will also be available as a PlayStation 3/Vita cross-buy later this month.

Lego Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin Sneaks Its Way Onto Portables Spring 2015

TT Games’s Lego titles may get attention for the enormous franchises it depicts, but games like Lego City Undercover and Lego Battles: Ninjago are proof that the developer is just as dedicated to pursuing the toy's original properties. That trend continues next spring with the release of the newly announced Lego Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin.

Shadow of Ronin is an untold story set in the universe of the Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu TV show. The game introduces a new threat to the Ninjas in the form of Ronin, a nefarious villain who steals their elemental powers. The Ninjas will have to venture to lands old and new to regain their powers, and learn devastating new combo moves, if they’re to thwart Ronin.

Lego Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin is slated for release in spring 2015 on Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection Problems Prompt 343 Industries To Delay Spartan Strike

In the wake of still unresolved problems with Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Microsoft and 343 Industries are delaying the next game in the series. Halo: Spartan Strike, the sequel to Halo: Spartan Assault, will not make its 2014 release.

The title was scheduled to arrive on December 12. It will now be released for Windows Phone and Windows 8 at an undetermined time in early 2015. Other platforms have not yet been mentioned.

“While we’re excited about this all-new Halo experience, our commitment to resolving the current matchmaking issues in Halo: The Master Chief Collection remains the top priority,” the developer writes. “As a result, we have decided to move the release of Halo: Spartan Strike to early 2015.”

Mojang’s Scrolls Arrives On PC, Mac, Android December 11

After an extended alpha and beta period, Mojang is ready to release its collectible card game-meets-board game. Scrolls will arrive next week.

The game will launch on Thursday, December 11, on PC, Mac, and Android. The price has been reduced on all platforms to $5, and anyone that participated in the alpha or beta will have access to the full version.

For those interested in trying the game, a demo version is available on Mojang’s website (account required). To ensure the game does not become pay-to-win, the developer is capping the amount of scrolls you can purchase with real money.

Jamie N Commons Tapped For Battlefield Hardline Theme

about X hours ago from

Jamie N Commons' thumping anthem "Jungle" was used in the first teaser trailer for Battlefield Hardline, and the artist has followed up by writing a song exclusively for the game. If you tune in to tonight's Game Awards 2014, you'll be able to see him perform the new track, "Karma," live.

"The music, and moreover the audio help create that emotional experience you want gamers to feel as they play in the world we've built for them," says Steve Papoutsis, VP and general manager of Visceral Games and executive producer of Battlefield Hardline. "With ‘Karma', Jamie captured that gritty cop and criminals tone that defines Hardline, where not everyone is good and not everyone is bad, toeing that fine line of the law."

Commons will be performing the single tonight at the awards, which begin tonight at 6 p.m. Pacific. You can download the track from the iTunes store, or check out his earlier work in the trailer below.

Resogun On PlayStation 3 And Vita This Month With Cross-Buy

about X hours ago from

If you own Resogun on PlayStation 4, you’re about to be able to take the game on the go without the need for remote play (or an additional purchase). Housemarque’s PS4 homage to Defender will arrive on PlayStation 3 and Vita this month.

Sony has announced that the shooter, which originally launched alongside the PlayStation 4, will be arriving on December 23 for the additional platforms. Because it will be released under the cross-buy program, anyone that already owns the PlayStation 4 version will be able to play on PS3 and Vita at no additional charge.

Climax, which handled the port, was able to transfer the game to the less powerful systems, but frame rate has been lowered. Instead of the 60 frames per second on PS4, the PS3 and Vita versions will be locked at 30 frames.

The Elder Scrolls Online Still Coming, Features Reworked Interface

about X hours ago from

The Elder Scrolls Online is still coming to both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The title, which was originally slated for release on consoles earlier this year, was delayed to give the team at Zenimax Online more time to polish.

In a recent update on The Elder Scrolls Online site, game director Matt Firor offers an update on the project. “They are playable and fun right now, but there's still some work to do before we can set an official launch date,” he says. “First and foremost, we want to make sure that two of our most important systems still in development—the Justice and Champion Systems—are included in the console release.”

The Justice system is a major enhancement to the game that brings elements of single-player Elder Scrolls games to the MMO. Players will be able to steal and kill innocent NPCs, but doing so will put a bounty on their heads (if detected).
