Destiny's new expansion, The Dark Below, hasn't even been out a week yet and someone has already hit the new level cap. Most players can appreciate how nuts this is, but non-fans should know that this is an enormous undertaking.
To sum it up, you need to score three raid armor pieces from the new raid (combined with a fully upgraded new exotic armor piece) and then a total of 63 of the new radiant shards to max them out. This shard requirement isn't possible with one character even if you are extremely lucky and score all three armor pieces in a single run. So how was it accomplished?
Bungie forum member Enormous Trash posted his or her level 32 character super early this morning. The user didn't offer a ton of explanation, only linking to his or her profile page (shown above) for others to dig through. Enormous Trash has three warlocks and ran them all through the new raid. Then, according to a response in the thread, the user deleted a character and ran a new warlock from level 1 through a raid run a total of five times to get everything needed to hit 32.

System Shock 2 is filled with twists and turns, the biggest of which is the revelation of its villain. Shodan is an evil, manipulative artificial intelligence who needs your help to stop her creations.
Today, System Shock 2 might not be quite as imposing thanks to outdated visuals. One person is trying to bring the graphics and the thrills into the 21st century.
A Polycount forum user that goes by the name “Mr. Smo” has recreated one of the most impactful scenes from Irrational Games and Looking Glass Studios’ System Shock 2 using CryEngine 3.

Ubisoft has issued a statement indicating that the next Assassin’s Creed Unity update (dubbed “Patch 4”) is on hold. The publisher had originally promised to roll out the latest fixes today, following a long line of repairs to the title.
“As stated last week, we’d expected to release the patch today (and we know that many are anticipating its release), but we are choosing to hold off until we can give you the improvements we’ve promised,” the Ubisoft Live Update Team writes. “We are committed to delivering major performance improvements, which requires that we refurbish the Paris map and that will take a few more days to hit the high level of quality our players deserve.”
The publisher hasn’t offered a specific target for delivering Patch 4. We’ve reached out to Ubisoft for context or clarification around what is involved in refurbishing Assassin’s Creed Unity’s map. We’ll update once more information is available.

From Software and Bandai Namco have initiated the promised Steamworks conversion, dropping Games for Windows Live from the title. In order to carry over your save data and achievements, you’ll need to import them in the next two months.
There are different processes depending on whether you originally purchased on disc, the Windows Live marketplace, or Steam. Regardless, if you have previous save and achievement progress that you want to move over, you’ll need to do so before February 16.
In order to initiate the update, you’ll need to go to your Steam library (after you’ve redeemed that version for disc-based and Windows marketplace buyers). Once there, you’ll have to go into Dark Souls’ properties and enable the “dsptide-2.0” beta.

Following Ubisoft’s apology for the problems with Assassin’s Creed Unity, the company indicated that it would be making changes to the season pass. As a make-right for anyone that purchased the game, the Dead Kings DLC will be free. And anyone that purchased the season pass (that previously included that content) will be getting a free Ubisoft game.
The publisher has updated its question and answer page related to the free game offer. On a page related to the matter, Ubisoft says that the website to secure your additional title will be going live this week.
If you have purchased but haven’t yet redeemed your season pass, you should do so at your earliest convenience. Delaying will cause a lag in your ability to collect your free title.

Frozenbyte has revealed the release date for the PlayStation 4 remake of its first Trine game, dubbed the Enchanted Edition. The updated version, which adds new visual effects and gameplay enhancements over the original 2009 release, is coming next week.
Specifically, Trine Enchanted Edition is arriving on the PlayStation Store on December 23, Christmas Eve Eve. Frozenbyte says the game runs at 1080p at 60 frames per second, and that it supports stereoscopic 3D if you're into that kind of thing.
For the uninitiated, Trine is a fantasy game for one to three players (local or online), in which a wizard, knight, and thief work cooperatively to solve environment-based puzzles and defeat enemies. PlayStation 4 players could download the sequel, Trine 2: Complete Story, earlier this year as part of June's PlayStation Plus promotion.

Growing up in the 8-bit era meant a lot of things. Game manuals were often filled with story (and color), games were challenging, and there was no Internet to search for tips. While games have certainly become more complex, there is still challenge to be found on those old grey carts.
