Get A Sneak Peek Of Star Wars: The Force Awakens Figures

about X hours ago from

The original Star Wars figures were so popular that they were sold in empty boxes because the manufacturer wasn't ready to meet the Christmas demand. We have a feeling that Disney could also sell empty boxes of The Force Awakens figures, but they probably won't. Get an early look at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens' costuming in these early prototype shots of Episode VII's action-figure line.

In the shot above you can see the figures, which are left to right: Kylo Ren, John Boyega as Finn, Daisy Ridley as Rey, droid BB-8, and Peter Mayhew’s Chewbacca.

Star Wars: The Force Awaken will change your life next December.

Destiny Players Battle Aliens For 99 Millenia

During an end of the year recap blog post, Bungie released some impressive Destiny stats. More than 12 million people have started playing Destiny and they’ve been playing a lot of it. To put it into perspective: the human race has spent more time playing Destiny than it has building pyramids.

In a recent blog post, Bungie's Community Manager David  "DeeJ" Dague dropped some impressive stats on us. Some people like to complain about Destiny, but we sure have played a lot of it.

Classic Board Game Operation Recreated In GTA V

about X hours ago from

Even if you've explored the entire world of Los Santos and collected every piece of peyote, you can still find more things to do in Rockstar's epic open world. For instance, try recreating popular board games like this massive simulation of the classic Hasbro-owned test of fine motor skills.

The Achievement Hunter Community worked hard to recreat Operation in GTA V. It looks like they had a hoot doing this, so maybe you and your friends should get together and do something similar.

As of this writing, the project has already been successfully funded, but if you’re interested in snagging a copy of the album, the campaign claims to have a lower price during funding than it will when it actually releases in the wild.

Musical tracks include pieces from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Angry Birds, Portal, Battlefield 1942, Braid, Destiny, Super Mario Galaxy, and Watch Dogs, plus two original tracks.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Developer Rises From The Grave With New Game

Back in December of 2011, the Ukrainian video game developer GSC Game World – which was responsible for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. shooter series – was dissolved and shuttered its doors. But it seems reports of GSC's death were greatly exaggerated, and the studio is back with a new game project.

After GSC Game World imploded studios like Vostok Games (Survarium) and 4A Games (Metro: Last Light) formed to fill the gap. Now GSC is back. GamesIndustry.biz recently spoke with GSC spokesperson Valentine Yeltyshev about the company's past and it's return.

"It was a difficult decision, because the team was working towards a full-scale game, but they and our CEO understood that the game just wouldn't be at the level we wanted from STALKER 2," Yeltyshev said about the company's original closure. "There was also a problem getting interest, and the right money, from publishers. We were offered funding once we reached alpha. Actually we would have been able to fund the entire development ourselves, but we still weren't sure we'd be able to sell it once we'd got to alpha."

Maniac Mansion Successor Thimbleweed Park Surpasses Kickstarter Goal

Point-and-click adventure-game throwback Thimbleweed Park earned a great deal more money that its developers were hoping for, meaning that the game will now be coming to iOS and Android devices. Now all the developers have to do it finish their game.

Last month, Maniac Mansion creators Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick teamed up and released a Kickstarter to raise money to design a new adventure game in the style of the fan-favorite Maniac Mansion. The duo were hoping to nab $375,000 from backers but ended up raising more than $625,000 from 15,623 individuals. That’s the burden of being popular.

Similar to Maniac Mansion, Thimbleweed Park will let players switch among multiple characters as they solve a mystery surrounding a dead body under a bridge. Gilbert and Winnick will use the extra cash to give the game full voice acting and port the title over to iOS and Android devices.
