Rumor: Creative Assembly Is Working On A Warhammer Version Of Total War

Back in 2012, Sega and Creative Assembly struck a licensing deal with Warhammer creators Games Workshop. Since then, there hasn’t been much noise about the fruits of the partnership, but there may be some news coming.

A member of the Total War Center forums shares pictures of The Art of Total War, a book scheduled for release on January 20 from Titan Books. In the text, reference is made to an Total War: Warhammer, set in the fantasy branch of Games Workshop’s franchise.

At the time Sega struck the deal with Games Workshop, THQ and Relic were in the midst of creating Warhammer 40,000 titles. These included strategy titles Dawn of War and Dawn of War II and action shooter Space Marine.

Battlefield Hardline Is Getting Another Beta, But EA Isn't Saying When

about X hours ago from

EA and Visceral are going to be holding another beta for the delayed cops-and-robbers entry in the Battlefield series. The test will include two modes, but we have no idea yet when it will start or how long it will last.

EA says that the test will be open to all five platforms (Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC). It will include the vehicle-based Hotwire mode and Battlefield’s 64-player conquest play.

The first beta ran during E3 2014 as a surprise offering on PlayStation 4 and PC. Shortly thereafter, Visceral shared what it learned from the unannounced test period.

Ebay Prices Soaring For Newly Announced Majora’s Mask New 3DS XL

about X hours ago from

It doesn’t come with an AC adapter and it retails for $199.99, or it will when it’s released on February 13. In fact, the Majora’s Mask New 3DS XL doesn’t even come with the game upon which the aesthetic is based, but these pre-orders are selling for more than double what you would pay in a store.

This morning, the Majora’s Mask New 3DS XL went on sale and, in a matter of minutes, was sold out from retailers online. After our recent report on gray market Amiibo prices, it’s not a surprise to find out that scalpers are taking advantage here, too.

Ebay completed auction listings show units selling for as much as $500, with a number in mid-$400 range. Given that it’s as yet unclear how much stock each retailer will have, these prices may yet fluctuate.

Tekken Producer Announces Free-To-Download 'Project Treasure' For Wii U

Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada appeared on today's Nintendo Direct stream to tease Bandai Namco's next project. The title, code-named Project Treasure, is a free-to-download Wii U game for four players.

Beyond that, Harada kept the details close to himself. He didn't reveal anything about the gameplay, aside from that it supports co-op and will feature traps, enemies, and treasure.

Throughout the tease, the image above flashed on the screen, likely showing off at least four of the game's playable characters. It's not much to go on, but it's technically better than nothing.

Kirby And The Rainbow Curse Blown Back A Week

Nintendo revealed a bit more about Kirby and the Rainbow Curse during its Nintendo Direct stream, including a new release date for the Wii U title. It's been pushed from its original February 13 date to February 20.

During the presentation, Nintendo's Bill Trinen outlined how the pink puffball will be able to find hidden treasure chests scattered throughout the world. These contain a variety of rewards, including music tracks and collectable in-game figurines. These virtual statuettes look as though they're sculpted from clay, and it looks as though there will be plenty to acquire.

Trinen also elaborated on how the game's Amiibo support will work. The functionality was outlined in a Japanese-language trailer for the game last month, but now the company is sharing the details with North American audiences.

Codename S.T.E.A.M. Welcomes Guest Fighters Via Fire Emblem Amiibos

about X hours ago from

Nintendo has announced that New 3DS XL owners playing the upcoming Codename S.T.E.A.M. will have the option of bringing some guests into their game. Using the Marth, Ike, Robin, and Lucina Amiibos, those characters can fight alongside Abraham Lincoln and other historical figures.

The Fire Emblem cast brings its own wrinkle. Those characters can’t be revived at checkpoints, unlike S.T.E.A.M.’s native heroes.

Marth wields his Falchion and can heal teammates and Ike has his sword and battle axe (and an area of attack smash). Robin and Lucina will have moves reminiscent of their titles, too.
