Rumor: Indigo Prophecy Remastered Listing Points To Imminent Release

about X hours ago from

Before Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain (but after Omikron: The Nomad Soul), Quantic Dream created Indigo Prophecy, and it looks like it may be making a return.

A teaser site, achillingfeeling.com, has been counting down to something with text that appeared in the game Indigo Prophecy in the background, but the more damning evidence of the game's imminent re-release comes from an Amazon.com listing for Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered (Fahrenheit was the game's European title). The listing points to a January 29 release on PC for the game and has a collection of screenshots showcasing high-definition touch-ups to the PlayStation 2/Xbox era game, which you can see in the gallery below.

The Bard's Tale 4 Announced

about X hours ago from

Brian Fargo and InXile Entertainment announced a new chapter to the classic RPG dungeon-crawler series at PAX South today. This single player PC-centric installment won't be a complete throwback-style game like Wasteland 2, and instead The Bard's Tale 4 will attempt to modernize and revitalize the genre - sort of like how Hearthstone approached the card game.

"This is a special game for me," says Fargo. "It was the first game that really put Interplay on the map, and it just happens that this will fall on the 30th anniversary."

The game will feature modern day approaches to graphics, sound, and design while revisiting all the locales and classes that players love from the early installments in the series like the town of Skara Brae. The game will be a dungeon crawler through and through, but don't expect to have to bust out the old-school tools. HUD elements will be kept to a minimum, there will be plenty of puzzles, and immersion will be the focus.

NES Platformer Shmup S.C.A.T. Available Now On Wii U Virtual Console

about X hours ago from

S.C.A.T., short for Special Cybernetic Attack Team, stars characters named Arnold and Sigourney as they try to fend off an alien invasion.

Originally released in 1991, S.C.A.T. is a bit of a cross between Contra and R-Type – a combination that looks very strange, it turns out. In Japan the game was called Final Mission and in Europe and Australia the game was called Action in New York, two titles that are arguably better alternatives for the word scat spelled out in all capital letters.

Iconic Scenes From A Clockwork Orange Remade In GTA

A Clockwork Orange is an influential ‘70s film that featured a dystopian view of extreme youth violence — the kind of ridiculous violence that happens in Los Santos all the time, so it’s fitting that a group of fans remade many of A Clockwork Orange’s famous scenes while playing Grand Theft Auto: Online.

Clip your eyelids open and watch a few iconic scenes from Stanley Kubrick's 1971 film reenacted in Grand Theft Auto: Online courtesy of GTA Series Videos.

Reader Discussion: What Is Your Favorite Gaming Weapon?

Reader Discussion: What Is Your Favorite Gaming Weapon?

Video games are filled with exotic locations, creatures, and ways to attack those creatures. Many of the ways we annihilate the bad guys in video games would never work in reality, but that's why video games are fun. What are some of your favorite video game weapons?

Personally – and I know this isn't going to be original – I'm really fond of the gravity gun from Half-Life 2. I especially love it near the end of the game when it becomes super powered and can pick up large items and even enemies. Maybe that gun is why Valve still hasn't released a Half-life 3; they can't think of anything to top themselves. I also love the Portal gun from Portal – though it's technically not designed as a weapon, it can be used to hurt things.

While, I'm a big fan of the weapons that Valve has made, there are plenty of other gaming companies that put a lot of effort into weapons. What about the Ratchet and Clank, Dead Rising, or even the classic Doom series? They all had great weapons. What are some of your favorite ways to bring the pain?

More Than You Need To Know About Legacy Of Kain's Lore

Back in the late ‘90s, Crystal Dynamics and Silicon Knights helped develop an action-adventure series about vampires called Legacy of Kain. The series started off as a kind of darker, more blood-hungry take of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and grew into a larger, narrative-focused version of Tomb Raider. The series was great, but it’s lore was complicated. Fortunately, there is help.

The historians from Lore in a minute! walk us through a brief recap of Legacy of Kain backstory. Even if you've played the games there might be something here you didn't know.

Weekend Warrior 01/23/2015

about X hours ago from

The new year is in full swing at this point, but many of us are still catching up on games that came out last year. Far Cry 4, LittleBigPlanet 3, and Grey Goo, are just a few of the things on our plate this weekend. What are your gaming plans for this weekend? Let us know in the comments below.

Jeff Marchiafava (@GIJeffM): I’ve been devoting all of my gaming time to Far Cry 4 recently, and that will probably be true for this weekend as well. I’ve liberated the entire south of Kyrat and crafted pretty much everything I can (save for a few that require exotic animals located in the north), but it still feels like I’m barely scratching the surface. I do foresee one potential detour from Kyrat, however: Thanks to the latest Humble Bundle, my Steam account is now full of nerdy collectible card games which I’m interested in checking out.

Daedalic's Silence Adds PlayStation 4 To List Of Platforms

Daedalic Entertainment's upcoming adventure game, Silence, has added PlayStation 4 as the latest console it will be releasing on. Previously, Silence was only slated to release on Xbox One, PC, and Mac, but according to Steffen Boos, Daedalic Entertainment's studio manager, adding PS4 to that list of platforms is an important thing for the company.

"This makes Silence a fully fledged multi-platform project; as for the first time, we can release a game for the high-end current-gen consoles, which is an important cornerstone for the company," Boos says. "We strongly believe that narrative-driven games like ours will be well received among console players."

The story follows Noah, who is searching for his little sister Renie in the midst of a war. In his pursuit, Noah gets lost and finds himself in solitude in Silence, a vast world with no apparent way home and an infestation of creatures that have a tendency to make people disappear. The player must accompany Noah as he searches for a way home while uncovering mysteries surrounding Silence and his sister.
