Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Patch Adds Gold Saucer Events And Mini-Games

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is adding new events, mini-games, and items via its 2.51 patch.

The biggest change for Final Fantasy fans is the inclusion of the Manderville Gold Saucer. Based on the Gold Saucer amusement park from Final Fantasy VII, the new area houses many of the MMO’s new diversions.

As part of the update, Final Fantasy VIII’s Triple Triad card game will be making its first appearance in A Realm Reborn, featuring both PvE and PvP modes as well as a set of 80 cards for players to build their decks from. Chocobo racing joins Triple Triad in the Manderville Gold Saucer, allowing players to breed and race a specialized chocobo against other players.

Nintendo Suggests One Single Major Title Could Revitalize Wii U, 3DS

A translation of the question-and-answer section of Nintendo’s investor meeting has been made available. While much of it doesn’t reveal new information, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata did discuss what he hopes will happen, invoking company history.

When the Gameboy reached the latter part of its life cycle, interest began to wane (as is common). However, the system defied the normal product curve because of the enormous success of a single title.

Pokémon Red and Green were released in 1996 in Japan. Red and Blue arrived in the West first in late 1998 in North America and Australia, before completing distribution in Europe in early 1999.

Power Rangers Fan Film Trades Up Campy Fun For Violent Katee Sackhoff

Power Rangers Fan Film Trades Up Campy Fun For Violent Katee Sackhoff

I am just a hair too old to be a true Power Rangers fan. When I was in high school I watched the show ironically. As an adult, I delight in my son’s enjoyment of the super-powered teens with giant robots and cool weapons. He’s not allowed to watch this version of the Rangers.

The video below, which stars Katee Sackhoff as original pink Ranger Kimberly and James Van Der Beek as second red Ranger Rocky is ultra-violent. It’s dark, it’s brooding, it’s even a little disturbing (oh, and you should know that it is absolutely not safe for work due to nudity and graphic violence).

Batman: Arkham Knight Tagged With ‘M For Mature’ Rating According To Rocksteady

While you won’t be able to find the rating on the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) website yet, we know that Batman: Arkham Knight has received an “M for Mature” rating. Previous titles in the series (Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, Arkham Origins, and Arkham Origins: Blackgate) received “T for Teen” ratings.

The news comes by way of an IGN interview with Rocksteady founder Sefton Hill. Hill says that the team didn’t set out to achieve a specific rating. ”We never did that in the previous two games... We just felt that this is the story that we really wanted to tell,” he says.

Hill navigated the ratings issue earlier in the game’s development. Conversations were had with both Warner Bros. and DC in order to set the direction for the game, which features a mysterious figure known as the Arkham Knight.
