Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Delayed Out Of 2015

Bad news, Uncharted fans. Sony has announced that Naughty Dog’s fourth (and possibly final) installment in the series won’t be coming this year.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is now slated for release in Spring 2016. "Since we showed you our first gameplay reveal of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, more of the game and story have come together, and it’s become clear to us that this game is much more ambitious than we originally envisioned," write directors Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann. "This game deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing, and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for."

The duo say that the delay will give them more time meet the standards that the studio and fans expect. For more on Uncharted 4, check out our coverage hub from February 2015.

Whether you access the store from the Xbox website or from your console, you’ll be able to claim ownership of the content. We confirmed this last night and everything seems to be working as expected.

We’ve reached out to EA for comment on this to better understand the reasoning. We’ll update once we know if this is a time-limited offer or a permanent action. The PC season pass still carries a price of $24.99, with individual content packs priced at $9.99.

Composers Reimagine Super Mario World’s Amazing Soundtrack

Brothers Karl and Will Brueggemann are composers heavily inspired by video game music, and the two have a new project that's markedly different from the average video game music song cover.

You can check out the video below outlining the project. Basically, the group is trying to use Koji Kondo's composition from Super Mario World and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island as a groundwork to craft their own music in the same style. There's not much like it, and you can hear some of their progress in the latter parts of the video below.

Reader Discussion: What's Your Favorite Mario Memory?

Reader Discussion: What's Your Favorite Mario Memory?

Today is March 10, which Nintendo has officially claimed as Mar10 Day (get it?). The company is celebrating this jumbled interpretation of the date by asking fans to share their favorite Mario memories. But who wants to sift through boatloads of throwaway Twitter comments when you can trust in the wonderful Game Informer community to promote some fun, nostalgic conversation?

It's March 10! “MAR10” day! Submit your favorite Mario memory using #MyMario & #SweepsEntry & you could win a copy of Mario Party 10!

It's unfair to solicit your favorite memory of the charming red plumber without first offering my own. My favorite Mario memory involves seeing Super Mario World for the first time at my cousin's house. I grew up in a Sega household, with solid Master System titles like Shinobi and After Burner, so I was no stranger to games. However, I recall watching my cousins play colorful Nintendo games like Mega Man, Castlevania, and of course Super Mario Bros. while I sat by, hands desperate for a controller. Looking back on the time, my cousins insist they didn't let me play because they'd have to pry the controller from my steely young fingers before they could play again. I choose to believe they were torturing me by forcing me to watch them play superior games than I had at home.

Epic Games Expands Headquarters Property

Between releasing Unreal Engine 4 for free and Boss Key Productions’ use of the company’s tech, Epic Games has been all over the news lately. The Epic-centric headlines continue with the news that the company has purchased more property to expand their headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Epic Games purchased the eight-acre tract for nearly $4 million dollars. To put that in perspective, Epic Games investor, Chinese company Tencent Holdings, is worth over $135 billion.

Epic Games senior marketing manager Dana Cowley says, “We have no construction plans at this time.” She offers no additional comment.
