Joe Montana Hints At Unreal Engine Powering Joe Montana Football 16

Though we still don't have an official announcement, legendary NFL quarterback Joe Montana has continued to tease an upcoming game on Twitter alongside the hashtag "#joemontanafootball16." Montana's latest tweet, which simply says "it just got unreal" and shows off a screenshot with the Unreal Engine 4 logo, indicates that the still unannounced game will run on the Unreal Engine 4.

Montana began tweeting hints with the same hashtag in July 2014. The first tweet says, "#youvewaitedlongenough," and includes a stylized render of Montana in a generic jersey. The screenshot tweeted today also appears to feature generic jerseys, with logos of non-NFL teams out of focus in the background.

During his career, Joe Montana was the figurehead of multiple games, including EA Sports' Joe Montana Football on Genesis in 1991, which did not feature any real teams or players outside of Joe Montana due to a lack of the NFL license. Following the release of Joe Montana Football, EA Sports abandoned the Montana name to focus on its NFL licensed football franchise, John Madden Football. Developer BlueSky Software continued developing games for Joe Montana through late 1994, but after Montana's contract ended with Sega, the franchise was moved to a new developer and rebranded for Deion Sanders.

Reader Discussion: What Are Your Thoughts On Battlefield Hardline?

about X hours ago from

The newest entry in the Battlefield series is nearly here, and while we won't have our launch coverage up until later tonight, we're curious as to what you think about the game.

Battlefield 4 launched in 2013, but many fans are still upset about the rough launch to this day. Do you think Visceral taking over the franchise for Hardline could spell a better launch, or are all Battlefield games destined for bad launches?

How interested are you in Battlefield Hardline? Have the Easter Eggs that have recently surfaced (like the reload animations or the driveable couch) changed your opinion at all? If you're a die-hard fan of the franchise, what do you think about the shift from military shooter to cops and robbers? Most importantly, are you going to buy Battlefield Hardline?

Final Fantasy Type-0 Secret Movie Uploaded On YouTube

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD comes out tomorrow, but due to some copies breaking street date, the secret movie has already been uploaded to YouTube by user Khaled Rizk. While the unlock conditions for the secret movie remain unknown, if you don't mind spoiling the video you can look at the trailer below which features a dying samurai being revived by some kind of spirit or demon.

It is likely that this trailer is teasing a future entry in the Type series as trademarks have been filed for Type-1, Type-2, and Type-3 which, like the main series, is envisioned to offer stand-alone tales. It is interesting to note that the face of the character, his voice, and sole line of dialog is shared by Ace in Type-0 so it remains unknown how this video ties into Type-0 beyond that. You can check out our review for Final Fantasy Type-0 HD here.

Infinity Ward Welcomes Back Former Lead Designer Todd Alderman

about X hours ago from

After departing Infinity Ward in 2010, Call of Duty lead designer Todd Alderman is returning to the studio behind Call of Duty, Call of Duty 2, the Modern Warfare trilogy, and Call of Duty: Ghosts. Alderman left Infinity Ward under less than amicable circumstances following controversy surrounding development work on Modern Warfare 2, but is returning as Infinity Ward's new multiplayer project director.

Alderman, who was the lead designer of games like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, was in the group of employees that sued Activision for between $75 million and $125 million for unpaid work on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in 2010. Alderman joined fellow Infinity Ward alumni Jason West and Vince Zampella at Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment as lead game designer before departing the team in 2012. Alderman also spent time at League of Legends studio Riot Games as a game designer.

Activision confirmed to us that Alderman has returned, and provided us the following prepared statement from Infinity Ward studio head, Dave Stohl:

Dota 2 May Soon Include The Goat From Goat Simulator

Valve's multiplayer online battle arena, Dota 2, may soon include the famous goat from the 2014 hit Goat Simulator. Coffee Stain Studios, the developers of the simulator, are attempting to add their physics-impaired goat into Dota 2 as a custom courier via Steam Workshop.

To be successfully implemented into the game, it has to receive enough votes from the Steam community on the Goat Simulator Courier page. With the popularity of Goat Simulator, this could easily become a reality. In a preview video, the goat has a long, retractable tongue wrapped around a gift bag, and the expert ability to fly upside-down with a couple of jet packs.

Check out the video below to see the comical goat in action. To learn more about Goat Simulator, read our review.
