Beat Down Boogie, a YouTube channel known for its video game-themed shorts and cosplay coverage, has released a video celebrating Gearbox’s Borderlands update.

Probably best known for their over-the-top film shorts, a result of the channel creators’ stint in the big-budget film business, Beat Down Boogie also covers Cosplay at events all across the country. This particular video, part of their Cosplay Remix series, gathers together some of the best Borderlands Cosplay around.

Ubisoft is launching a two-hour trial version of The Crew this week. Starting today on PlayStation 4 and tomorrow on Xbox One, you’ll get a chance to get behind the wheel.If you decide you like the game, you’ll be able to transfer your progress from the trial to the full game.

For those that already own the game and are considering DLC, the Vintage Car Pack is available today alone or as part of the season pass. Included in the pack are the Chevrolet Corvette C2, Chevrolet Corvette C3, and the Spyker C8 Aileron.

All players will be getting a free update that adds four new faction missions and the Blitz Brawl competitive mode. There are also new customization options included.

Chances are that despite the more than 1,600 Rock Band songs that were in circulation, something you wanted didn’t make that cut. Whether that’s because it wasn’t chosen or because the music is more recent, hope has been rekindled.

Harmonix is opening up the floor so fans can recommend tunes for Rock Band 4. All you need to do is fill out a simple form that has two fields: song title and artist.

You can fill out the form as many times as you like, just follow the instructions. Only put one song and artist per submission so it can be sorted properly.

The X-Files Will Return In A Six Episode Event Series

The X-Files was one of the most popular and longest running sci-fi television series of all time and today Fox has announced plans to revive the series for six episodes 13 years after season nine concluded. X-Files’ creator Chris Carter is set to oversee the production of the series which will begin this summer and both David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are set to return as FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.

While this is the first time in 13 years that new TV episodes are being produced, a second feature film The X-Files: I Want To Believe was released in 2008 and a comic book series called “season 10” rebooted the series for modern times in 2013. An X-Files video game was released on the PlayStation 2 in 2004 titled Resist or Serve which featured three new stories set during the show’s seventh season. At PAX Prime 2014, we had a chance to speak with Hidden Path Entertainment’s Jeff Pobst about the long-term vision for Defense Grid 2. Part of the roadmap included cultivating a community of map creators and then, eventually, selling the best in the store.

Today, the first 11 curated maps go on sale. Each costs $.99, with revenue split among Valve, Hidden Path, and the map creators. This announcement also marks the opening of Steam Workshop submissions, which will be used as a pool from which to select additional maps for sale.

If selected, creators will receive 25 percent of sales. You can check out the new maps on Hidden Path’s website. To peruse the Workshop submissions, head over to Steam.

It’s been 18 months since Minecraft and Mass Effect came together in a mash-up pack on Xbox 360. Finally, PlayStation gamers will be able to create a universe to explore on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Vita.

Starting today, Minecraft fans can download the Mass Effect mash-up pack, which includes the Mars Facility, 36 skins, 22 music tracks, and a number of textures and items from BioWare’s franchise. Also today, players can download the Pattern Texture pack, which includes colorful decorations and knitted animals.

No prices have been announced, but the Mass Effect pack costs $3.99 on Xbox 360 and the texture packs cost $1. We’ll update if we find out the prices will be different on PlayStation systems.

Square Enix has revealed three new images for their upcoming Play Arts Kai Batman: Arkham Knight figure. The statuette comes with an assortment of accessories, such as a miniature batarang and batclaw. There is very little information as of right now, with no release date or price announced.

Check out past Square Enix figurines, such as Marvel's Iron Man and Sora and Roxas from Kingdom Hearts.

The second Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare DLC pack is coming next week. Today though, you can see all four maps and a peek at the next Exo-Zombies chapter.

The pack includes four maps: Chop Shop, Climate, Perplex, and Site 244. In the video below, we get a look at some of the map-specific features, including dangerous, contaminated water and harvesting the power of alien pods.

Fortnite’s Second Alpha Is Live Now, Live Stream 4PM EST Today

Epic’s Fortnite has been tucked away behind closed doors for almost a year, but today a few fans will get hands-on time and everyone can see it in action.

While Epic is only quietly announcing the launch, the second official Alpha period for Fortnite is currently live and will run through April 14. Those who weren’t accepted into the Alpha program don’t need to feel too left out though, as Epic will be showing the game off on its Twitch channel at 4PM EST. The stream marks the first time the general public will get to see the game in action.
