At today's Nintendo Direct, it was announced that the free-to-play Pokemon Rumble World will be coming to the 3DS eShop on April 8.

The game will feature over 700 Pokemon and use diamonds as currency, which players can acquire through gameplay or through eShop purchase. Combat looks like an incredibly streamlined process where the player easily moves Pokemon around and takes on hordes of toy Pokemon.

Nintendo is all in on Amiibos, announcing new waves for many of the games coming to Wii U later this year. Yoshi's Woolly World is one of those games landing a small series of Amiibos...all made out of yearn. The series consists of three Yarn Yoshi Amiibos (pictured below). The Yarn Yoshi Amiibos bring a second Yoshi into the game, allowing players to guide "double Yoshi."

Nintendo also announced that Yoshi's Woolly World will feature two modes: classic Mode and Mellow mode. Classic mode is designed similarly to other Yoshi titles and is said to be quite challenging, even for veteran players. Mellow mode allows players to play as a winged version of Yoshi, who can glide easily through levels. Players can switch between the two modes at any time during play.

Mario Kart 8 To Receive Blistering 200cc Class In Free Update

Mario Kart 8 will be introducing a new class to the franchise through a free update later this month. The update, which launches on April 23, will add a new high speed class to the experience: 200cc.

Ever since the series debuted in 1992 on Super NES, the Mario Kart franchise has capped at 150cc, which to this point has served as the ultimate challenge for hardened Mario Karters. With this new update, players will be able to test themselves even further with speeds not seen in the series to this point.

The free update is set to be made available on April 23 alongside the premium Animal Crossing x Mario Kart 8 DLC pack.

Amiibo cards, along with Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer, will be releasing this Fall.

Three cards have been introduced, each portraying an Animal Crossing character, including Isabelle, Peanut, and Goose. These are basically amiibos in card form, and will be usable with the Nintendo 3DS for the upcoming game Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer. Cards can be scanned using an NFC reader for Nintendo 3DS and 2DS that will be released on the same day as the game.

In the new Animal Crossing game, players will act as home designers at the request of different animals in the world. Each animal has a specific taste, such as urban or bookworm, and the player must design rooms to suit them.

Attack On Titan: Humanity In Chains Invades North America And Europe This May

Atlus is bringing the latest version of Spike Chunsoft’s Attack on Titan game, Humanity in Chains, to western shores. The title was announced today during the Nintendo Direct, and you can check out the trailer and screenshots below.

Attack on Titan supports local and online cooperative play for up to four, and if you have a Circle Pad Pro or New 3DS, you’ll get more refined control out of the right analog disc or c-stick. In addition, the first two episodes of the anime are available on the eShop for free (you can also catch the series on Netflix).

More Mario Kart 8 DLC Coming, Including Animal Crossing Course

Mario Kart 8 is getting a new pack of DLC this month, and a new course based on the Animal Crossing series is part of the offering. The course has visuals and music inspired by Nintendo's peaceful simulation series.

New carts, courses (not just the new Animal Crossing one), and drivers are also part of the package. 

The DLC will release on April 23.

During today's lengthy Nintendo Direct conference, Nintendo announced that Amiibos based on Super Smash Bros. Mewtwo and Lucas are coming soon. The company also announced that Amiibo wave four will street in the United States on May 29. That wave consists of Wario, Ness, Pac-Man, Robin, Lucinda, and Charizard.

Not stopping there, Nintendo revealed two additional waves. In July, wave five brings Amiibos for Dark Pitt and Palutena. September brings the sixth wave, consisting of Olimar, Dr. Mario, Zero Suit Samus, Ganondorf, and Bowser Jr.

That's not all; upcoming Wii U game Splatoon is getting a three-pack of Amiibos that consist of an inkling girl, inkling boy, and inkling squid. This set launches on May 29. Yoshi's Woolly World is also getting a line of Amiibos. Like the game, these Amiibos are made out of yarn. When you use the Amiibos in this game, a second Yoshi is added to the game. The Yarn Yoshi Amiibo will ship in three colors: green, pink, and blue.

Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem Emerges

The long awaited Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem has finally emerged with it's first real trailer in the latest Nintendo Direct. We now know that Atlus will be the ones developing the game and that it will be about modern day Persona-like high school kids becoming super heroes and J-Pop idols.

These characters will engage with a secret world that contains characters from Fire Emblem and demon enemies similar to those found in the Shin Megami Tensei games. A big component of the game seems to be mounts and vehicles considering we saw characters ride race cars and winged horses.

Nintendo promises to unveil more about the long awaited title in the future.

Choose Your Fate In The New Fire Emblem

Players will have big choices to make in the upcoming Fire Emblem for 3DS, choosing to align with the Hoshido for a more traditional experience that might be more welcoming to new players, or siding with the Nohr for a more challenging experience as you try to unite a broken empire from the inside.

This massive choice will set players on completely different paths from the very beginning of the game, and provide multiple, unique experiences to engage with in a single game.

The new Fire Emblem for 3DS is expected to release in North America in 2016.
