Take A Tour Of Star Wars Celebration

Take A Tour Of Star Wars Celebration

Most of my day was dedicated to writing a Star Wars-related story that will post tomorrow afternoon, but I did get the chance to walk Star Wars Celebration's show floor for a couple of hours before it closed today. Never before have I seen so many toys and collectibles that I wanted to purchased. Never before have I come across a group of people that was so passionate about a fictional universe.

My day started in the arena packed with thousands of Star Wars fans screaming gleefully as Star Wars: The Force Awakens' cast was introduced, and ended with a 20-minute discuss with random people about the new movie trailer that J. J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy debuted at the Convention. I talked Star Wars all day long, and I can't wait to go back and do the same thing tomorrow.

I snapped a few photos as I took a tour of the show floor. Tomorrow I'll be seeing The Force Awakens Exhibit and will hopefully have a slew of new photos to share with you. For now, here's some of the cool, random, and wild stuff you can see at this year's show.

Major Nelson has revealed the cult hit will be released for Xbox One tomorrow.

Goat Simulator became an unlikely hit, largely due to YouTube videos of the game going viral on the Internet. Tomorrow, April 17, it will have a new console to create a ruckus on when it is released for Xbox One. The game is available for purchase now on Xbox Live for $9.99. However, you won't be able to play it until the 17th. An Xbox 360 version of the game will also be released in the near future.

Colorado Arcade Machines Warn Users About Driving Stoned

about X hours ago from

Since Colorado legalized marijuana in 2014, stoned driving has been a new hazard of the roads. Now, new arcade machines aim to raise awareness among users.

The retro-looking arcade cabinets are made up to look like a fictional old-school driving games named End Game. However, when you approach the cabinet you see the message: CDOT (Colorado Department of Transportation) reminds you...Playing games while high is legal. Driving is not."

Users can then play a free game of some old school arcade hits like Donkey Kong, Frogger, and Galaxian.

March 2015 NPD – Battlefield Hardline and PS4 Lead Sluggish Retail Sales

March 2015 NPD – Battlefield Hardline and PS4 Lead Sluggish Retail Sales

Sony's console continued to dominate the Xbox One in March, but sales overall continued their slow pace in the retail space.

The NPD reports that hardware sales decreased by nine percent. "Console hardware was the primary culprit responsible for the March 2015 sales decline, with a 29 percent, or $104 million decrease, in spending while portable hardware rose by 71 percent over last year,” says NPD's Liam Callahan.

Physical software sales also dropped by six percent from March 2014, but don't take this as a signal the new consoles are struggling. "March 2015 software sales showed growth across all three eighth generation consoles (PS4, Xbox One, Wii U), collectively increasing by 58 percent versus March 2014," Callahan says. "This is a sign of the health of the eight generation console space; especially when considering the strong March 2014 software releases (as a comparison) such as Titanfall and inFamous: Second Son.”

Rock Band 4 Will Support Older Controllers And Equipment

Rock Band 4 Will Support Older Controllers And Equipment

In an interview with Business Insider, Rock Band 4's project leader Daniel Sussman confirmed that older controllers from past Rock Band and Guitar Hero installments will be supported in the new Rock Band 4.

In contrast, Guitar Hero Live, which also releases this year, will not be compatible with previous instruments in either franchise. This makes sense, considering Guitar Hero Live features a new six-button guitar, which may make Rock Band 4 the more affordable option when it releases this Fall.

It remains a mystery whether the future Guitar Hero Live controller will be compatible with Rock Band 4, but Sussman told Business Insider that he thinks the possibility exists. "Our position is really all about respect for our consumers and for the money that they have spent to get into the game space in the first place," he said. "They spend a fortune on games – on consoles, on hardware – and we're sensitive to that. We play those games too."
