One of the biggest complaints Guitar Hero fans had during the series' original run was that Activision and the many development studios working on the franchise were flooding the market with retail releases, running the series and its genre into the ground. During a recent meeting with Activision, I asked the publisher what it was doing to ensure the series and the genre has more viability this time around.
Tyler Michaud, senior director of product management at Activision, was candid in his answer. "It is not in our plan to put out a new disc in 2016," he tells us. "When you look at what [Guitar Hero Live's GHTV] can do, we can bring you that new content and new ways to play without having to ship you a new disc."
Guitar Hero Live's GHTV mode allows FreeStyleGames and Activision to provide players with new content by using a TV channel-like experience that is able to be continually updated. Players strum along to charts that are placed over the band's official music video for the given song.

Hot on the heels of last week’s announcement of Star Wars Battlefront, DICE has provided GameStop and other game retailers a first look at a behind-the-scenes developer diary for the game.
The video discusses the remarkable detail the developer is pursuing in creating an authentic Star Wars experience. DICE has worked closely with LucasFilm in acquiring both visual and audio assets directly from the original films. In addition, the studio has visited many of the original filming locations from the movies to recreate landscapes that match the feeling of the films.
GameStop has the dev diary along with slots for subsequent videos on its dedicated Battlefront page. By pre-ordering through GameStop, players will gain access to the Battle of Jakku stage on December 1, which ties in to the upcoming Star Wars movie. Star Wars Battlefront is set for release on November 17 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The Assassin’s Creed series is trying something new with the first in a trilogy of 2.5D games. The well-loved retro title, Shovel Knight, makes its way to Sony platforms. And both Crypt of the Necrodancer and Dungeons II have caught my eye as exciting PC adventures.

GameStop revealed today its plans for a pre-order bonus for Halo 5: Guardians, and the news came along with an accompanying video that shows off the armor in action. The new HUNTER-class armor is a notable departure from the MJOLNIR armor of previous games, and the video goes out of its way to show off some new tricks.
By pre-ordering through GameStop, players will gain access to Locke’s HUNTER-class armor in multiplayer matches. It’s safe to assume that Locke’s new armor will already play a big part in the single-player campaign.
The announcement comes with some additional lore detail about the HUNTER armor, including that it incorporates Watershed Division’s newly-created battle tech, and that the prototype armor is built to enhance “situational and threat awareness.”

In the photo above, Nick is holding the fan-made gun as well as a recreated Ghost, Destiny's levitating A.I. robot. This Lego-made Suros Regime comes with a removable magazine, an ammo counter that lights up, a movable trigger, and a charging handle.
In-game, the Suros Regime can be bought from Xûr for 23 strange coins (when Xur has it in stock), or obtained through strikes, chests, engrams, and crucible matches. Take a look at Nick's other fantastic work, as well as YouTuber ZaziNombie's Lego Ice Breaker.
