PlayStation 4 Still Bright Spot Amid Staggering Sony Losses

Sony has confirmed its forecasted shortfall of ¥126 billion ($1.05 billion) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015. The company is hopeful for significant turnaround in the coming year though, forecasting operating income of ¥140 billion to stop the bleeding.

The company faced significant losses in its mobile communications division totaling ¥220.4 billion ($1.837 billion), but showed positive operating income in its imaging products, home entertainment and sound, devices, film, music, and financial services businesses. All of these showed growth over the previous year.

Game and Network Services continues to be a pillar of Sony’s financial performance, with a 25 percent increase in sales year-over-year (adjusted for constant currency conversion). This year saw a write-down of ¥11.2 billion ($93 million) related to the Vita and PlayStation TV.

A new mod available for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V lets you turn on ragdoll physics whenever you want.

YouTube user Tyrannicon put the mod to good use and activated the mod in the middle of a number of cutscenes. The result is a montage of moments where Trevor, Franklin, and Michael seem to fall asleep without warning constantly. You can grab the mod yourself here.

Watch Elders Make Uncomfortable Faces At Mortal Kombat X's Fatalities

Watch Elders Make Uncomfortable Faces At Mortal Kombat X's Fatalities

Earlier today, we watched elders try out the hyper-violent Mortal Kombat X. Now, watch them react – uncomfortably – to Mortal Kombat X's fatalities.

It's the same group of elders from earlier today, and unsurprisingly, most of them are not impressed by people getting their guts pulled out, or being sliced apart by swords. If you want my reaction to these elders reactions, I think we need ot keep an eye on Rocky. He seems far too comfortable with the violence on-screen. He seems genuinely amused by it.

Stage 2 Studios’ indie title let players explore a mysterious alien planet as a lost astronaut with emotional baggage. Now that little wounded astronaut has wandered onto consoles.

Lifeless Planet was a Kickstarter-funded action/adventure game that came out last June for both PC and Mac. Game Informer's Kyle Hilliard gave it a 7.75, but you can read the full review for more details. If you missed it last year, you can check it out when it hits Xbox One on May 13.

Confirmed! Lifeless Planet on @XboxOne in 2 weeks (May 13)! https://t.co/iI918yrNVW @ID_Xbox pic.twitter.com/0e3Wcr20Fk

Shovel Knight Takes On The Battletoads On Xbox One

The Xbox One version of Shovel Knight just released today and it contains a special cameo from Rare's classic brawlers Rash, Zitz, and Pimple.

The PSN version of Shovel Knight had Kratos, so it seems only fair that the the Xbox One version of Yacht Club Game's platforming throwback got something special of its own. Microsoft announced the Battletoad's arrival at GDC, and now they're here. Here's a detailed video on the process from Prepare to Game:

Elders React To The Blood And Guts Of Mortal Kombat X

Our favorite group of elders is back, and this time they are being introduced to one of the goriest games on current consoles. This time, they are pit against each other in a fight to the death.

You don’t have to get far into this video before it starts getting quite amusing. “I can feel that in my own crotch,” Mary exclaims as Libby’s Kitana kicks her Sonya Blade “down under.”

Sign Up To Test Gigantic On Xbox One

The Xbox One is getting a double-dose of MOBA in the near future. Hi-Rez’s Smite is currently in the testing phase on Microsoft’s console. Now it seems the other known title is getting ready to do the same.

Motiga has posted an extremely brief survey for the Xbox One version of Gigantic. Completing the three questions won’t guarantee you a spot in the play test group, but this is a good way to get a leg up.

For more on why you should be interested in Gigantic, you can check out thoughts from Game Informer MOBA guru Dan Tack and my less experienced perspective, both from PAX East this year.
