Konami Confirms That Mobile Will Be Its Primary Focus Moving Forward

about X hours ago from

There has been mounting evidence that Konami is shifting its priority away from console gaming. As we reported earlier this week, the company’s revenues from console titles has dropped 30 percent over the past three years. Now, a direct statement indicates where the company’s new priorities lay.

Speaking to Nikkei, Konami Digital Entertainment president Hideki Hayakawa says that mobile is the company’s future. “From now on, mobile is at the center,” Hayakawa told Nikkei (roughly translated via Google).

He also indicates that key franchises, like Metal Gear Solid, may also be pushed into the mobile space. The company is exploring ways to expand its presence in that sector in Japan and overseas.

Silver Mario Amiibo In Stores This Month, Not A Retailer Exclusive

about X hours ago from

If you happened to miss out on the gold Mario Amiibo earlier this year, you still have a chance for second place. The silver variant will be arriving in stores in just a couple of weeks.

Nintendo says the metallic Mario will be headed to stores on May 29. He offers the same functionality as the Super Smash Bros., Mario Party 10, and gold designs. You can use it with any of the titles in which Mario Amiibo figures are supported.

Nintendo recently reported its year-end financials, touting the success of the Amiibo line. Over 10.5 million of the figures have been shipped worldwide, and the company has been struggling to meet demand.

Alleged Footage Of Rumored Gears Of War Ultimate Appears Online

For the past week, there have been rumors of a Gears of War remake for Xbox One circulating online. The stories were spurred by a listing Gears of War Ultimate for Xbox One on the Brazilian Advisory Rating Board, though the listing has been changed a number of times (reading as an “error” last week and now as “Null 3”).

Yesterday, footage purported to be taken from the remastered title appeared online. The footage was taken offscreen, making it more difficult to determine if it’s from a new product. However, additional original video content was found earlier on XboxDVR and NeoGAF members point to mirrored videos still available.

Watch The Trailer For The Supergirl TV Show

about X hours ago from

Between movies like Avengers: Age of Ultron and shows like The Flash and Arrow, superheroes are a big deal right now. CBS is keeping the trend alive with Supergirl, and you can see a lengthy trailer for the show right now.

The show appears to be a drama/action/comedy mix that see the heroine balancing her personal and professional life while keeping the world safe.

As numerous media outlets and various jokers have noted, this reveal bears a surprising resemblance the SNL's recent sketch parodying what a Black Widow movie would look like…and the similarities are admittedly striking.

Blizzard Takes Steps To Rid World Of Warcraft Of Bots

Blizzard Takes Steps To Rid World Of Warcraft Of Bots

Blizzard has posted that it is taking action against bots in World of Warcraft. The post comes in response to a "large number" of accounts that were using third-party automation programs to play the game for them.

"We’re committed to providing an equal and fair playing field for everyone in World of Warcraft, and will continue to take action against those found in violation of our Terms of Use," community manager Josh Allen says in the post. "Cheating of any form will not be tolerated."

Third-party bot programs have been around World of Warcraft for years to farm materials and currency. Though Blizzard has attempted to take action against them in the past, the persistence of these programs has made it difficult to take any permanent actions against the users of bots. Allen encourages players to report any suspected cheaters they encounter. Players can do this by using the right-click report functionality or by emailing suspected hacking or cheating to hacks@blizzard.com.
