Microsoft Responds To Xbox One ‘Kill Switch’ Reports Related To NDA Violations

Earlier today, we reported that footage had emerged of the rumored Gears of War Ultimate Edition. Throughout the day, more information became available, including a report from the contracted testing company that punitive action had been taken.

Kotaku published a memo reportedly sent from testing company VMC to employees. One item of note is that VMC claims that certain consoles belonging to those found in violation of an NDA were entirely disabled. The company suggests this is part of the Xbox Live End User License Agreement (EULA).

When reached for comment, Microsoft declined to share whether a mechanism that can completely suspend all usability exists. The company provided us with a statement on the situation, however.

These Sega Classics Have Never Looked More Awesome

Five talented artists have teamed up to turn some popular Sega games into bona fide works of art, and you can see them all right here.

Art gallery Cook & Becker commissioned the works, which include beautiful takes on Streets of Rage (seen above), Jet Set Radio, Phantasy Star, Golden Axe, and Shinobi. The artists collaborated with both Cook & Becker and Sega for the commissions, using original assets from the games.

Only 200 copies of each poster-sized print are being sold – the first 25 prints of each will set you back $99, after which the price will go up. Take a look at all the other prints in the art gallery below.

April 2015 NPD: Xbox One Leads Console Sales, Mortal Kombat X On Top

The NPD results are in for the month of April 2015, and the results show an industry in growth. Sales at retail increased by 3 percent year-over-year to $595.7 million.

Hardware dipped but a minor 4 percent to $183.9 million, and accessories (typically driven by toys-to-life) was also down by 3 percent as we get closer to the release of this year's action figure games.

Xbox One led console sales, and Microsoft corporate vice president Mike Nichols says that uptake increased 63 percent over this month last year and that active users have increased across Xbox Live (both Xbox One and Xbox 360) by 24 percent.

Things Get Even Crazier In GTA Online With New Rockstar-Verified Jobs

Rockstar has announced the addition of 10 new verified jobs in Grand Theft Auto Online, and players have their fellow community members to thank for them.

For those out of the loop, GTA Online's verified jobs are competitive matches that players can engage in, which include everything from deathmatches to races. Players can create their own custom matches by editing objects, weapons, spawn points, and other aspects, then share them with other players. Being "verified" by Rockstar makes them available via a special menu in GTA Online, and across all five platforms.

The new jobs were chosen for their creativity, and include two teams fighting over a hearse in a cemetery, a deathmatch atop a series of linked skyscrapers, and a ramp-laden race over Lago Zandcudo bridge. Three additional races are available on the current-gen systems and PC, and contain more props than the last-gen systems are capable of handling.

Submit To Bunny Lord In Roll7’s Not A Hero Today

Devolver Digital has found yet another excessively bloody, absurdly humorous title to publish. Olli Olli developer Roll7’s Not a Hero is out today.

The game puts you at the beck and call of an anthropomorphic rabbit named Bunny Lord. Most of the things he wants you to do for him involve guns and explosives. Thankfully, you also have guns and explosives with which to defend yourself and execute your mission (and the guards).

Not All Is As It Seems In The Witcher 3’s Gorgeous Launch Cinematic

In case you weren’t already looking forward to Tuesday’s release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a new cinematic might help you along. The video features some excellent animation, depicting a knock-down, drag-out fight between Geralt and and a spirit.

What stands out to me is how it incorporates the different elements of Geralt’s arsenal. Potions, magical signs, his swords, and even the crossbow all come into play.
