Blizzard Celebrates Diablo III’s Third Anniversary With Bovine Intervention

We’re udderly at a loss over what’s going on in Diablo III. Thankfully, intrepid adventurers won’t be cowed by the mysterious portals that have popped up throughout the game.

Blizzard is celebrating the game’s third anniversary and steak-ing its reputation on this special event. Now through the evening of May 21, you’ll be able to enter alternate realms ruled by bovine.

This odd occurrence is available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Those playing on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will instead receive double experience and gold that stacks with other buffs granted by in-game items, shrines, and reflecting pools.

Four Indies Get The LittleBigPlanet Treatment

Sony has shared some images of upcoming LittleBigPlanet DLC featuring the stars of four indie darlings. Sackboy (and Sackgirl) and pals will have a number of new dress-up options beginning today.

Kicking off the indie celebration are costumes representing Octodad (Octodad: Dadliest Catch from Young Horses) and Lt. Kai Tana (Velocity 2X from Futurlab). On Tuesday, May 19, a minipack featuring the angular stars of Mike Bithell’s Thomas was Alone will be available. Finally, on May 26, Klei’s Don’t Starve gets a full-blown costume pack.

The Warp Zone’s Take On Amiibo Sales: Satire Or Documentary?

The Warp Zone’s Take On Amiibo Sales: Satire Or Documentary?

YouTube comedy channel The Warp Zone has taken a jab at Nintendo’s handling of Amiibo shortages in a recent skit. If you’ve ever watched the Home Shopping Channel or QVC, you’ll recognize the authenticity of despair (and that’s just what’s emanating from the hosts of those programs not living up to their dreams).

As you might suspect, the shortage of certain (read: many) characters causes frustration amongst the viewers. But what happens toward the end is where we become unclear if this is comedy or documentary.

For Xbox One gamers, there’s no change right now. Pool Nation FX and Castlestorm Definitive Edition remain in place through the end of the month.

Yes, You Can Now Play Clicker Heroes On Steam

about X hours ago from

Popular browser favorite Clicker Heroes is now available on Steam as a free-to-play offering. Along with titles like Cookie Clicker and Tap Titans, Clicker Heroes offers a continually churning semi-automated click-extravaganza that's surprisingly addictive as you acquire new allies, powers, and perks.

The game is saved in the Steam cloud so you can take your progress comfortably from PC to PC, and yes, the game keeps slaughtering droves of trees, bees, plants, and other monsters even when you're offline - so you often come back to a smorgasbord of treasure each time you opt to come back to check on your progress.

If you've missed out on the click-genre, now is as good a time as any to grab the minimal download and give it a shot!

Reader Discussion: Are You Warming Up To MOBAs?

about X hours ago from

With big titles like League of Legends, Dota 2, and Heroes of the Storm continuing to make the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena a popular destination for many PC players and eSport enthusiasts, not everyone has taken to the team-based genre. With games like Smite, Battleborn, and Gigantic heading to console this year, things may be changing from the archetypal isometric style and allowing for fast-paced, almost shooter-style action.

Even on PC there's a shift with some titles focusing on accessibility, shedding the long-present stigma that the games have a troublesome burden of knowledge required and steep learning curves.

With these shifts and changes, will you be looking to try a MOBA-style title when it arrives on console? Or maybe you've already tried a few titles on PC and found them lacking - will new changes and new titles bring you back for another try? Or perhaps you've already tried one and fallen in love with the gameplay. What's your opinion is on the MOBA environment - and its future?

Darkest Dungeon Getting Significant Update Later This Month

about X hours ago from

Red Hook's Darkest Dungeon continues to roll out updates during its early access phase, with the the "Fiends & Frenzy" update dropping later this month on May 28.

This update will feature two new classes, the commander-style Man-at-Arms who comes hardened for battle with a mace, a shield, and rallying cries, and the Arbalest, a plate-wearing artillery class with some field medic abilities! In addition to the two new classes, three new bosses will be making their first appearances in the existing dungeons, and new special rewards will be available for those brave (and crazy!) enough to explore larger dungeons in a state of darkness.

Darkest Dungeon is expected to go into a full launch state sometime this summer.
