Nintendo's next wave of Amiibos are slated to hit most retail chains on May 29, and are once again expected to be in short supplies if internet rumblings on Reddit, Twitter, and NeoGAF are accurate. The figures releasing on Friday are divided into a number of different series, such as the new Super Smash Bros. wave consisting of Jigglypuff, Charizard, Greninja, Robin, Ness, Wario, and Lucina. This line is likely to be the one most collectors are going after.

Nintendo is also releasing Amiibo figures for Splatoon. A three-pack consisting of Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, and Inkling Squid is the the pack to get, but should you not want all three, Inking Girl and Inkling Boy will be sold separttely. Inkling Squid is only available in the three pack.

The final Amiibo release on Friday is a Silver Mario variant that is expected to be rare. The only advice we can give: Get to your stores in advance of them opening, and good luck hunting!

Battlefield 4 Spring Update Adds New Weapons, Balancing, Gun Master Mode, And More

Though Battlefield 4 launched in October, 2013, developer DICE is still supporting it through updates. With the new Spring Update, Battlefield 4 has now enhanced the experience from several angles, adding new weapons, a new online mode, re-balancing the weapons, and much more.

The new weapons balancing is illustrated above in the image taken from EA and DICE's patch notes. In addition, DICE is adding a new assault rifle in the AN94, a new carbine in the Groza-1, a new PDW in the Groza-4, a new sidearm in the Mare's leg, and a new LMG in the L86A1. The new update also brings various netcode improvements including minimizing player stuttering and boosting the performance of fast-handling vehicles over the network. Those with a keen ear will also notice new audio improvements, including DICE introducing a unique sound for headshots and improved bullet sounds for soldier impacts.

DICE is also bringing back the Gun Master mode, which was found in Battlefield 3: Close Quarters. The mode plays out like team deathmatch, only you change weapons every two kills. The first player to record a kill with the final gun wins. The mode brings with it five preset playlists within it to give you a variety of different gun sets to experience Gun Master with.

FIFA 16 Reveal Coming Tomorrow

In a matter of terrible or perfect timing, Electronic Arts announced today that it will debut the first news on FIFA 16 tomorrow.

This comes on the same day that the U.S. Department of Justice indicted 14 FIFA officials on a variety of charges, including money laundering, racketeering, and wire fraud. U.S. law enforcement says that this is only the beginning of a widespread investigation of FIFA.

Despite this tremendous blow to the core soccer organization the game is based on, EA Sports is rolling ahead with plans to promote the game. This from the official EA Sports twitter account:

Turn Your Screen Into A Mario Level With Screentendo

about X hours ago from

A new app allows you to give your computer desktop a definite Mario twist. Though it's just a proof of concept at this point, the Screentendo desktop app gives you the ability to process what is on your screen and transform it into a scene ripped straight from Super Mario Bros.

Aaron Randall's Screentendo accomplishes this by processing the image and applying several filters to make the image on your screen more readable for the app. From there, the section you designate is changed to feature brick blocks and the blue sky background from Super Mario Bros. You can check out the video of how Randall transformed the Google homepage into the image you see above.

Lego Instructions Purportedly Reveal Lego Worlds

Lego Instructions Purportedly Reveal Lego Worlds

Lego, TT Games, and Warner Bros. Interactive have been on a bit of a tear lately, working on several games based on the blocky brand. They've got the license mash-up Lego Dimensions, and games based on Jurassic World and The Avengers. That might not be the end of it either, according to an image that shows something called Lego Worlds.

A member of the Eurobricks Lego fan site posted the image, which he says appeared on the back of a newly released set's building instructions. It shows several Minigigs wandering around a Lego landscape, with a farmer using a tractor to shovel loose bricks up. The tagline "Explore. Discover. Create." appears up top, along with a URL (lego.com/worlds) that currently leads to the page-not-found image pictured above. The TT Games and Warner Bros. logos are at the bottom, which certainly suggests – if not outright stating – that we're looking at something game-related here. If (and that is an if), this isn't just a case of someone having some fun with PhotoShop.
