Resident Evil 2 Remake Gets Free

The Resident Evil 2 remake has been extremely well received, with our own Ben Reeves giving the game a 9.5 out of 10. Capcom hopes to build on this momentum with free expanded content in the coming month.

On February 15, players can download the Ghost Survivors mode, which includes three "what if" short stories about people who failed to make it out of Raccoon City following the outbreak. "No Time To Mourn" follows the story of gun shop owner Robert Kendo. "Runaway" follows the mayor's daughter as she tries to escape. As its name implies, "Forgotten Soldier" follows a soldier caught up in the madness.

Here's a gallery of the three characters facing long odds:

Metro Exodus Leaves Steam For The Epic Games Store

Metro Exodus Leaves Steam For The Epic Games Store

The Metro Exodus story is all about leaving the familiar behind and seeking fortune elsewhere. This theme extends to the franchise's approach to the digital marketplace as well. Today Deep Silver and Epic Games announced a partnership that makes the Epic Games Store the sole digital distributor of the PC version of the game moving forward.

“Metro Exodus is amazing and is deservedly one of the most anticipated PC titles of 2019,” said Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney. “We are partnering with Deep Silver to launch Metro Exodus, underpinned by Epic’s marketing support and commitment to offering an 88% revenue split, enabling game creators to further reinvest in building great games and improving the economics of game stores for everybody.”

When Epic Games announced the 88/12 revenue split, we expected to see many publishers reconsider their relationship with Steam, where Valve keeps 30 percent of the profit unless a game hits a $50 million threshold, whereafter the split transitions to 80/20. Metro is now the second high-profile title to defect, following Ubisoft's The Division 2

Battlefield V Update Adds New Tank, Tweaks Panzerstorm Map

Continuing the second chapter of Battlefield V's Tides of War live service, today DICE announced the addition of a new Axis tank to unlock, as well as some changes to improve the recently released Panzerstorm map.

The new tank is the Sturmgeschutz IV, which was seen previously in a teaser trailer for Chapter 2. The German tank was used in the later stages of World War II, becoming an effective tank killer on the Eastern Front. You can unlock the tank by completing the weekly challenge.

The other major change coming via this update is a reworking of the tank-focused Panzerstorm map. To bolster defense at the F point in conquest, DICE added buildings to make it four times bigger. They also added an alley of trees between G and D to give infantry more cover moving between the locations. To further help out the infantry stuck moving in wide open areas, DICE added ditches and mounds long the edges of fields. Pilots will also appreciate the raised flight ceiling, giving them more vertical space to maneuver.

BioWare Is Giving Away Free Javelin Skin After Anthem's Troublesome Demo

This weekend's Anthem VIP demo has been fraught with problems, leaving some players unable to play the game at all. EA's servers crashed and it affected other games, such as Fifa 19, as well. Because of all this, BioWare's head of live service Chad Robertson wrote a blog addressing the issue, stating that the team is working hard to fix it.

According to the blog, there are three main issues, including the large spike of players that entered the demo on Friday, certain accounts being blocked due to being flagged internally, and "infinite loads" that were because of problems with how ISPs and players' home networks interacted.

To make up for the unstable demo, BioWare is giving everyone who participated a free and additional Javelin skin when the game launches.

Catch Up With Kingdom Hearts' Lore With This Video

Catch Up With Kingdom Hearts' Lore With This Video

Kingdom Hearts III is nearly upon us, and it's looking extremely promising. The series is notorious, however, for its convoluted storyline that can be difficult to follow.

Square Enix recently uploaded several "memory archive" videos that act as a recap of Kingdom Hearts' story so far, but the videos aren't that great. Click here for the first one, but if you want a more detailed breakdown, the video below is much better.

If Kingdom Hearts III will be your first entry to the series, or if you're just looking for a refresher, this video could be helpful to you. The video creator, Barry Kramer, has only played the first and second Kingdom Hearts, but spoke to an expert on the series for a total of seven hours. It makes for a pretty cohesive (and funny!) video that simplifies some of Kingdom Hearts' complex plot threads.

Wargroove To Have Cross-Play At Launch

Wargroove, an upcoming strategy game similar to Advance Wars, will have cross-play at launch. Publisher Chuckle Fish announced the news on Twitter, confirming that cross-play will be available across Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.

There's no mention of whether PlayStation 4 will include cross-play too, but since Sony only recently made the function available late last year, that doesn't come as much surprise. The PS4 version of Wargroove launches at a later date, too.

Sometimes your friends aren't in the same faction as you, and that's okay!
No need to start a war, keep your band together with multiplayer cross-platform play on PC, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, when Wargroove launches on February 1st! pic.twitter.com/Z6svC6MyL7
