Learn All About The Completed, But Never Released Star Fox 2 For Super Nintendo

Ahead of what will likely be a focus of Nintendo's E3 presence, Did You Know Gaming tackles Star Fox this week tracking its history, and its unreleased entry.

You can check out the video below, which showcases lots of Star Fox 2 footage, including some land-based vehicles and impressive (for the time) 3D technology. As the story goes, despite having completed the game, Nintendo decided to withhold Star Fox 2 so as not to interfere with the Nintendo 64's impressive 3D showcase. You can check out the video below to learn more.

Weekend Warrior 06/05/2015

about X hours ago from

With the weekend comes the weekend warrior, and with this particular weekend warrior comes a lot of The Witcher 3. While the majority of Game Informer’s staff plans to sink some hours into CD Projekt Red’s massive RPG, both Jeffs and Kyle Hilliard also look forward to playing You Must Build A Boat in their spare time—their “non-Witcher time,” really.

What do you intend to play this weekend? Let us know in the comments.

Jeff Cork (@GIJeff): My family's spending the weekend on some kind of camping-trip nonsense, which means I get the house to myself. Once again, I'm going to spend way too much time playing The Witcher 3. Geralt walks around outside a lot, and I'm controlling him, so it's kind of like being in the outdoors. Right? I've also downloaded You Must Build A Boat, and I suspect that's going be absorbing the rest of the time. I am a mess.

Rumor(s): Evidence Of Dark Souls III Emerging, But Be Cautious

From Software might be keeping the Souls train chugging. A variety of loosely sourced rumors have emerged this week indicating that Dark Souls III is headed for an E3 reveal.

Earlier this week, VG 24/7 shared a story that the game is in development and headed for announcement in a week and a half. That story was predicated on a single source, which made us uneasy about sharing it.

Today, The Know shared what it claims are screenshots of Dark Souls III. Again, these came from a single, anonymous source. As Kotaku points out, there are aspects of the story that seem very convenient and not at all aligned with the approach previously taken in the series.

Ask Kato Anything About Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

There has been plenty of talk about Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain recently, but for the wrong reasons. Luckily, I had the opportunity to play a large chunk of the game, and we can start talking about the things that matter with it – the game itself. So ask me what you want to know about MGS V, and I'll do my best to give you all the answers.

Of course, I must caveat this by saying that there are some things that Konami doesn't want me divulging about the game – primarily regarding the story – for obvious reasons.

Still, if you have a question about Metal Gear Solid V, type it below in the comments section and I'll post my answers on Tuesday, June 9, at 8 a.m. Central.

Learn More About Gamer-Focused Mental Health Nonprofit Take This In Upcoming Documentary

Founded in 2013, nonprofit organization Take This has been working to give the gaming community a safe space to talk about mental health issues. Last year, the group made that a physical location at PAX conventions with the AFK room. These quiet areas are designed to give people a chance to take a break from the noise and stress of the show floor before becoming overwhelmed.

Take This has also hosted a number of panels at PAX conventions on different mental health topics. Today, the group announced it is increasing its footprint in collaboration with IGN.

IGN and Take This will host AFK rooms at San Diego Comic Con, E3, and PAX Prime, and more events. The duo will also be hosting its own events, with more information to come.

Daybreak Shifts Focus From Landmark To EverQuest Next, No Guarantee Of Release This Year

Daybreak Shifts Focus From Landmark To EverQuest Next, No Guarantee Of Release This Year

Daybreak Games (formerly Sony Online Entertainment) has announced a significant shift in the EverQuest team's focus. Landmark, Daybreak's EverQuest sandbox, has been the priority for months. Moving forward, the team is turning its attention to EverQuest Next.

Landmark will continue to feed into EverQuest Next's development, as the team explores ways to bring user creations into the game. What this also means is that features that are exclusive to Landmark are going to take a back seat now that the team has completed a major character and land claim wipe.

"As the team has wrapped up the various pieces related to the wipe and the bugs associated with it, we have been shifting our focus and resources over to work on the highest priority tasks and systems that will be used in EverQuest Next," writes senior producer Terry Michaels. "While we do this, we’re working in areas with high amounts of creative risk. This means that while we know what we want to do, we know it will take an unknown amount of iteration, tweaking and sometimes drastic direction changes to get these in game and working the way they need to. Because of this, we simply cannot commit to any dates, because until we get much closer, even our best estimates are educated (but still fairly wild) guesses."
