Visit Tamriel In This Man's $50,000 Elder Scrolls Basement

So you've stood in line at a convention for hours on end for an extremely limited exclusive or sat out in the cold for a midnight opening. That makes you a superfan. We need to coin a new word for Tyler Kirkham, who spent $50,000 on converting his basement into an Elder Scrolls-themed retreat. How does "Ultrafan" sound?

Barcroft TV showcased the basement in a video released today. Kirkham, a comic book artist from Salt Lake City, Utah, has decorated the room with a water feature, Elder Scrolls-appropriate weaponry, a Dovahkiin helmet (of course), and training dummies. Oh, and there's a secret passage triggered by pulling a book.

CD Projekt Red Sells 4 Million Copies Of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt In First Two Weeks

CD Projekt Red is celebrating a significant milestone for its latest adventure with Geralt. The studio has annoucned that since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's May 19 release, over 4 million copies have been sold.

"Four million RPG fans spending their hard-earned money on our game is a sign that we did something right, and you can be sure that we’ll harness all that positive energy and make the upcoming expansions worthy of the grand adventure that you’re telling us Wild Hunt already is!" writes company co-founder Marcin Iwinski. The email also acknowledges that the team continues to work on improving the game.

Our review of The Witcher 3 was glowing, but we have also reported on issues that have plagued the game. Problems like extremely tiny text, a serious save game issue, and an experience bug introduced by a patch have all marred the user experience. These are on the way to repair, if not already fixed, meaning it may now be safe to dive in.

Wargaming Announces Master Of Orion Reboot

Master of Orion, one of the most influential series to the strategy genre, is being revamped for a modern audience by Wargaming and NGD Studios. The original game is an influential flagship title for the 4X genre and developer NGD Studios is keeping it familiar, as multiple members from the team behind the original Master of Orion are involved with the reboot.

Wargaming also touts this as a homecoming of sorts, as the company found success with its Massive Assault series. “Master of Orion is a game that brings Wargaming truly back to its roots, not only as a company but also in how it influenced my personal interest in both games and making them,” CEO of Wargaming Victor Kislyi says. “The series’ iconic gameplay has stood the test of time and working with NGD Studios to bring the series back to life is a truly exciting moment for the team.”

Wargaming is promising enhanced visuals, as well as a rebuilt user interface, a new score from the composer of the original game, added voiceovers by "well-known actors," new tutorials, and more. The goal, according to Wargaming, is to deliver a game that plays like a fresh experience while remaining faithful to the classic Master of Orion games.

Reader Discussion: What Retro Series Do You Want A Legacy Collection For?

Today brought the news that Capcom is releasing a collection of Mega Man games on current generation consoles, PC, and 3DS. The Mega Man Legacy Collection is set to feature Mega Man 1 through 6 with a new challenge mode and a digital museum with added art assets.

We want to know what retro series you'd like to see a Legacy Collection for. I'd personally love something similar for the original Sonic the Hedgehog games. I know we received two classic game collections for Sonic two console generations ago, but I think it would be really cool to be able to play from Sonic 1 all the way through Sonic & Knuckles on a single save file like was seen in Sonic 3 & Knuckles with the level select feature becoming available after you beat it. I'd also really enjoy a similar collection for the Castlevania series, or perhaps a Zelda collection that goes from Link's NES days up through his N64 outings.

What series would you like to see a Legacy Collection for? Are there any special features you'd want to see in particular for your fantasy collection?

Report: EA Registers Mirror's Edge Catalyst Trademark, Domain

Some savvy internet sleuths have uncovered a breadcrumb trail that may lead to the title of the next Mirror's Edge game.

NeoGAF member Rösti tracked down a trademark filing in Europe for Mirror's Edge Catalyst by a J A Kemp, a patent and trademark firm that has a history of working with Electronic Arts. Further sleuthing led to the discovery of a domain name filing of the same name by EA.

The timing would align with an official announcement for the game at E3 next week. The game is currently slated for a 2016 release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC
