Take A Peek Inside This $499 NES

about X hours ago from

The Nt from Analogue Interactive isn't just any old NES emulator. This sleek, $499 machine is custom-built around the original NES' Ricoh 20A3 and Ricoh 2C02 microprocessors. Besides being a functioning console that can play your back library, it's beautiful to look at. The body is carved from a single block of aluminum, and even the circuit boards look like they belong in an art museum.

All of that craftsmanship isn't cheap, though. Just the metal body is $499, and the price goes up from there depending on the custom-made cables and controllers you want. Refurbished first-party NES controllers are about $50 a piece, and the cables run anywhere from $20 to $30. If that's too expensive, just take a look at the gorgeous photos below. Anyone interested in making the purchase can set up a pre-order here

We hope to weigh in on the console's strengths and weaknesse when review units become available.

PlayStation Network Down Due To ‘Factors External To PSN’

The PlayStation Network is experiencing difficulty on both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Users have reported and Sony has just confirmed the problem.

According to the PSN status page, Sony is labeling this as an issue outside of its control. “You may be experiencing issues related to launching certain games or game functionality,” the company writes. “This is due to factors external to PSN. We are tracking the progress of the resolution of the issue.”

We’ll continue to monitor the situation and update as progress is made.

NECA's Upcoming Penguin Figure Is Terrifyingly Realistic

about X hours ago from

In the film Batman Begins, Tim Burton and Dany DeVito turned Penguin into a monster with inky lips, a scowl, and the appetite to devour raw fish in public. NECA is bringing this disgusting vision of the longtime Batman foe to toy stores this summer as a 15-inch action figure.

Penguin comes packaged with a removable monocle, cigarette, half-eaten fish, and top hat. You'll also find a mini-poster reading "Cobblepot for Mayor" in the box. No price has been given.

Having Trouble With Battlefield Hardline DLC On PS4? You’re Not Alone

If you’re having problems downloading and playing the Criminal Activity DLC for Battlefield Hardline, the issue isn’t with your account or system. Players who own the digital Ultimate Edition on PlayStation 4 have reported that they cannot access the content.

The problems don’t seem to be affecting retail copies or those that own the digital standard or deluxe versions. According to Visceral Games multiplayer producer Zach Mumbach, the team has been aware of the issues since June 20.

“Right now we are looking at all the digital versions on PS4 to make sure everyone can download,” Mumbach writes. “Best update I can give you right now.“

Have One Of Those Bigger Smartphones? It Won’t Fit In A Pip-Boy

about X hours ago from

Bethesda has announced what phone models are compatible with the collector’s Pip-Boy edition. If you sprung for the iPhone 6+ or similarly sized phone, you’re out of luck.

According to Bethesda, there will be foam inserts designed to house the iPhone 6, iPhone 5 and 5s, iPhone 4 and 4s, Samsung Galaxy 4 and 5, and similarly sized phones will work. The larger iPhone 6+ and other large phones are a no-go, unfortunately.

“As we wanted to stay faithful to the dimensions of the in-game model, any smartphones larger than the models listed will not fit inside the wearable device,” the company writes. “For these larger devices, our Pip-Boy companion app will still be available.”
