Dave & Buster's Arcade Chain Considering Bringing Pokkén Tournament To North America

about X hours ago from

Pokkén Tournament, the Pokémon/Tekken hybrid arcade game, may be heading to North America by way of Dave & Busters.

In a reddit AMA with Kevin Bachus, Dave & Buster's senior vice president of entertainment & game strategy, he remarked on the possibility of bringing the game to the restaurant/arcade chain. When asked by redditor Seven29, "You guys are on good terms with Nintendo/Namco, right? Pokkén Fighters would be likely to at least get a location test if they offered it, right?" Bacchus replied, "Yes. We will be testing Pokkén. Candidly both Namco and I are more optimistic about that title and our typical guests than Tekken."

Currently, the game is only available in Japanese arcades where the game saw release earlier this month. This is by no means a guarantee that the game will make its way to all Dave & Buster's locations, but currently, it's the best chance the game has of coming to North America.

Hearthstone's New Expansion Is The Grand Tournament

about X hours ago from

Today at a special event, Blizzard announced a new expansion for Hearthstone, featuring 132 new cards - The Grand Tournament. Those familiar with the Argent Tournament in World of Warcraft know what to expect - a large assortment of cool characters coming out to do battle!

The expansion is set to launch in August, so as with other Hearthstone announcements the actual content is quick to follow. There's a new mechanic in the set called Inspire that triggers when a player uses a hero power, and a ton of new neutral and class cards. Several new cards were showcased during the announcement.

Our TakeIncreasing the card pool by 130 is a great thing for Hearthstone, so just as with Goblins vs. Gnomes before it, these new cards will undoubtebly lead to new deck archetypes and strategies, and flesh out the fledgling card pool with more options. I can't wait for Grim Patron decks to go out of style, and hopefully The Grand Tournament makes that happen :) In all seriousness, the new mechanic looks really cool and I can't wait to have access to the motley assortment of colorful characters that Blizzard brings out for The Grand Tournament.

More impressively, it heralded the coming era of virtual reality before the advent of devices like the Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus. We talked with Cline about his impressions of the Oculus Rift headset, his unofficial sequel to Buckaroo Banzai, and how he new book Armada is just as game fueled as his last.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II Is Now The Most Sought After Title For Xbox One Backwards Compatibility

about X hours ago from

It’s been nearly a month since Microsoft asked which Xbox 360 games fans want to see become backwards compatible on the Xbox One. For the longest time, Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption was the game most in demand, but the western shooter has recently been usurped by another popular title: Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

The poll on Microsoft’s website allows fans to vote and comment on games they would like to see brought to the current gaming generation via backwards compatibility. Black Ops currently leads the pack with 77,135 votes, beating out Red Dead Redemption’s 75,136. The other top contenders are fairly obvious; Skyrim, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Halo: Reach, and Gears of War 3 all hold top spots on the list.

If you’re eager to see your favorite Xbox 360 game reemerge on the Xbox One, head over to the poll here to cast your vote. Microsoft isn’t promising any individual game on the list will become backward compatible, but the poll serves as a great way to find out what games fans want to see brought to the current generation.
