Lionhead Creative Director Gary Carr Leaves To Start New Studio

After a 12-year tenure at the studio, Lionhead creative director Gary Carr has departed the company. Carr was reportedly working on new IP development at the studio, which has become known almost exclusively for the Fable series since the days of the original Xbox.

Gamespot reports the departure, which has been confirmed by Microsoft, and the news that Carr is leaving to begin his own studio. Prior to working at Lionhead under Peter Molyneux, Carr was with him at Bullfrog from 1989 through 1994.

In between his time at Bullfrog and rejoining Molyneux's team, Carr broke off to join Mucky Foot Productions. That studio was founded by three ex-Bullfrog developers and, prior to its closure in 2003, worked on Urban Chaos, Startopia, and Blade II.

Konami Patches Game-Breaking Metal Gear Solid V Quiet Bug On PS4, PC

After announcing that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain shipped with a game-breaking, save-corrupting bug last week, we have good news. Konami has patched the offending problem on two platforms.

Those playing PlayStation 4 and PC are in the clear on this one. The patch is undergoing final testing on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 and will likely be available soon.

The error was triggered by bringing Quiet on one of two missions as your buddy. While Konami did put a finer point on it and offer a way to avoid the problem, this patch eradicates it completely.

The First-Person Movie Hardcore Gets Its First Trailer With District 9 And Powers' Sharlto Copley

Hardcore is a crowd-funded action movie that takes place entirely from the first-person perspective of its protagonist, Henry, and it has received its first trailer.

Director Ilya Naishuller shared a scene from the movie while it was still gathering money with its IndieGoGo campaign back in November. The headline for the trailer on YouTube teases that the movie stars District 9 And Powers' Sharlto Copley. Copley doesn't appear to play the film's main, unseen protagonist, but he does appear in the trailer, strangely, as two different characters.

The trailer showcases an impressive display of stunt work and special effects that will feel familiar to anyone who has played a first-person shooter.
