Hilarious Metal Gear Solid V PC Bug Lets Players Invent Crazy, New Weapons

about X hours ago from

Videos popping up over the last few days show Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain players taking advantage of a peculiar bug that allows them to create weapons using any parts that they want, even if they defy logic. The bug, which we haven't yet verified, is only found in the PC version of The Phantom Pain, and only becomes available after side ops mission 109 is finished. This mission enables weapon customization.

As the videos show, players attaching any parts that they want to pistols, rocket launches, and machine guns. The results are pistols that can hold 100 bullets, silenced rocket launchers, and machine guns that fire rockets. From what our sources say, the parts can simply be attached by clicking the left mouse button.

Prior to his tenure at Konami, Merceron was with Square Enix and Ubisoft. We’ve reached out to the publisher for comment and we’ll update should we receive a response.

Ys Net Wants More Money For Shenmue III

about X hours ago from

After closing out its Kickstarter with $6.33 million on top of a deal with Sony, Ys Net is asking for more money for Shenmue III. The developer sent out an email announcing a “slacker backer” program that will run through the end of the year.

While some of the backer rewards overlap with the original Kickstarter campaign, there are physical game packages that differ. Instead of using funding to sure up existing goals, Ys Net is going the Star Citizen route and will be adding more stretch goals.

Because of the potential for additional stretch goals that will add content and change the battle system, Ys Net isn’t entirely committing to its December 2017 release. “A rigorous budget and schedule has been worked out with our production team and we believe our target of 2017 holiday season is within reach,” the developer writes. “That said, our goal is to make the best game possible (and one that the fans want!) so please understand the schedule may change as the project evolves.”

Ubisoft says it wants players to stick around long after the upcoming Rainbow Six Siege launches later this year. The publisher has announced that its DLC plans won’t cost you a dime, at least for new maps.

While Ubisoft is confirming that maps won’t cost you any money, it also suggests there are other post-launch plans in play. “At launch, Rainbow Six Siege will have 11 maps, playable both day or night, all using the full potential of our Real Blast destruction technology,” a company representative told us via email. “In addition, all post-launch maps will be downloadable for free. We want players to stay with us for the long term and have ambitious post-launch plans that we will detail at a later stage.”

For more on Rainbow Six Siege, you can read our preview from E3. It’s due out on December 1 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

about X hours ago from

Earlier this week, Sony announced that it has given the Project Morpheus head-mounted virtual reality display a final name. PlayStation VR, which was first shown off at GDC 2014, is slated for arrival in the first half of 2016.

There are still a number of unknowns about the peripheral, including specific pricing, launch library, and recommended room setup. While we don’t yet know exactly how much it will cost, Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House told Bloomberg what to expect.

House didn’t give the publication specifics, but indicated that it will be priced like a new game platform. If House is using the PlayStation 4 as a model, customers can expect to pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $400.

Dynasty Warriors Creators' Attack On Titan Game Gets Its First Gameplay Trailer

The game may be from the creators of Dynasty Warriors, but it doesn't look like it will play like a Dynasty Warriors game.

Announced back in August, its first teaser didn't offer much of an indication of what to expect in terms of gameplay. It looked like the show and we assumed it would be forced into the Dynasty Warriors mold, but the latest trailer for the game seems to indicate it will stand apart from developer Omega Force's typical fare.

The trailer shows soldiers taking on small groups or single Titans by flying through the air with their swords. It looks like it has more in common with Shadow of the Colossus than Dynasty Warriors. The game is coming to PlayStation 4 in 2016.

Soon You Will Be Able To Take All Of Batman: Arkham Knight's Characters Into AR And Predator Challenges

about X hours ago from

Batman: Arkham Knight's director (and NPC extra) announced an update today for Batman: Arkham Knight that will give the game's bonus playable characters more freedom soon.

Good news! Character selection for AR combat challenge maps coming in Oct update. Predator maps in Nov. pic.twitter.com/qcq9b3GODJ

Hill later clarified on twitter that selecting DLC characters will work on all maps, not just the new ones, and it will be a free update. He also answered a number of other questions about upcoming content on twitter. While Nolan's The Dark Knight's tumbler Batmobile is heading to the game, Christian Bale's batsuit is not. Also, the tumbler will not have a tank mode and will function similarly to the Burton 1989 Batmobile. Hill also said there no plans to allow the extra characters to free-roam the city, and that the PC version is still being worked on and that he, unfortunately, has no release date available for the games re-release.
