Shovel Knight Retail Version Delayed And Increased In Price, Xbox One Retail Version Canceled

The plans to bring physical copies of Yacht Club Games' acclaimed retro platformer Shovel Knight have shifted around in some dramatic ways. In a blog post on the Yacht Club Games website, the developer detailed the changes that are coming to the impending physical retail release.

First off, Yacht Club announced that the release date for all versions of Shovel Knight's retail release has been pushed back to November 3, three weeks following the original announced release date of October 13. The developer claims that some complications related to the release of the recent Plague of Shadows free DLC led to this. According to Yacht Club Games, it was important for the team to make sure the DLC was included on the disc or cart out of the box, so that factored into the delay.

Treyarch Explains How It Incorporated Player Feedback From The Black Ops III Beta

about X hours ago from

When a beta test occurs, many players like to use it as an early sneak peek of a game that will be releasing in the coming months. For developers, however, alpha and beta tests serve a very real purpose in helping them to fine-tune the experience and gather feedback from some of the most passionate fans. With the Call of Duty: Black Ops III multiplayer beta now several weeks in the rear-view mirror, Treyarch game design director David Vonderhaar took to the PlayStation Blog to share some of the changes that have been made in the time since the test.

According to Vonderhaar, several players voiced concerns regarding how powerful the game's Black Hat equipment, which allows you to hack scorestreaks and enemy equipment, was. To address this, Treyarch has implemented a new hacking mechanic that scales the length of time it takes to hack enemy equipment and scorestreaks to how close you are to that enemy and how precise you are with aiming the equipment. The time it takes to hack has also been adjusted to take longer, and the hacker is now pointed out on the minimap during the hack, making it easier for the targeted player to counter the attack.

Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom Comes To iOS, Features Apple Watch Companion App

about X hours ago from

A sequel to 2013’s popular Sonic the Hedgehog endless runner game Sonic Dash released today on iOS devices. A new add-on includes the ability to earn bonuses through exercise using an Apple Watch companion app.

Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom features the cast of the children’s animated show and game series of the same name, including Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Amy, and Sticks the Badger. Players can select three characters to use during gameplay and swap them in and out to utilize their special abilities for higher scores. Also new to the sequel are collectible sprites, which can be combined and equipped to a player’s team in order to multiply scores or extend special abilities. There are 45 sprites currently available to collect.

Perhaps the most notable addition to the series is a companion app for Apple Watch that lets players earn additional rings and sprites for racking up miles on a Sonic-themed pedometer. The companion app is exclusive to the iOS platform, so no bonus for Android users when the game releases widely across Android devices on October 15.

Star Wars Rebels Trailer Shows Off The Darker Side Of Season Two

LucasFilm released a new trailer for the second season of Star Wars Rebels today via the Star Wars Tumblr page, SlashFilm reported. The nearly three minutes of footage show off tons of confrontations between familiar characters, new villains, and old faces.

Things seemed hopeful for the band of rebels in last season, but a new pair of Jedi-hunting Inquisitors, including the mysterious Seventh Sister (voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar), is set to wreak havoc on the crew alongside Darth Vader. An unnamed bounty hunter also appears to track down Sabine, and it’s evident that they have a bit of history together.

Family looks like it will once again play into this season’s dramatics, as Ezra continues his search for his lost parents, while Darth Vader burns his way through the galaxy in search of his former apprentice Ahsoka Tano. The crew isn’t without some chance of survival, though, as we also see former clone troopers like Captain Rex aiding the rebels in battle from atop their AT-TE. Check out the full trailer below.

The Next Witcher 3 Patch Will Eat Up 15 GB Of Your Console's Hard Drive

The Next Witcher 3 Patch Will Eat Up 15 GB Of Your Console's Hard Drive

The Witcher 3 is a notoriously large game in terms of things to do, but its base game currently weighs in at a relatively modest 31 GB on consoles. The upcoming patch, which fixes hundreds of minor things across several parts of the game, will arrive on consoles at nearly half the size of the original game.

According to a substantial patch notes PDF from CD Projekt Red, the 15 GB patch 1.10 will make the Witcher 3 a smoother experience overall. The patch will also fix a large number of known bugs in the game and add new conversation segments with Triss, Ciri, and Yennefer including requested romance options.

Marcin Momot, community lead at CD Projekt Red, says that the patch will still be rather large on PC, but potentially smaller than what the console players will need to download.

Disney Posts Release Dates For Incredibles 2 And Cars 3, Pushes Back Toy Story 4

about X hours ago from

Acclaimed animation studio Pixar has a full slate on its hands in the coming years. Today Disney announced release dates for its next batch of films, The Incredibles 2, Cars 3 and Toy Story 4.

Disney plans to release The Incredibles 2, the long-awaited follow-up to Pixar’s 2004 superhero family adventure, in June 2019, while Cars 3 is currently set to come out in June 2017. The company has slated Toy Story 4 for a June 2018 release — a year later than originally planned. Other upcoming Pixar films include The Good Dinosaur (November 25), Finding Dory (June 2016) and Coco (November 2017).

Back in November 2014, the Los Angeles Times reported that Toy Story 4 would tell a love story and pick up after the events of Toy Story 3. Aside from that, few details have circulated regarding plot details for these films. Hopefully Pixar and Disney will reveal more about these films soon, but we have a long way to go for several of them.

Hasbro Unveils New Force Awakens Action Figures, Including Han Solo

about X hours ago from

The second teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens gave us our first look at the return of Han Solo and Chewbacca, two characters we assumed would be front-and-center in most of the merchandise leading up to the film's December 18 release. If you head to a store and walk down any toy aisle, you'll see that the shelves are flooded with new toys and products based on this film, but Han Solo isn't a part of most of it. The only significant toy featuring this iconic character is the Millennium Falcon Lego set. Disney and LucasFilm clearly wanted manufacturers to focus mostly on the new faces of Star Wars.

As the film's release date inches closer, there's a chance we might start seeing more of the Original Trilogy's cast. At this year's New York Comic Con, Hasbro unveiled a new wave of 6" Force Awakens  figures featuring Captain Solo. The line also consists of Ello Asty, General Hux, a Resistance Fighter, and a Snowtrooper. No release dates were given for these figures, but we have a feeling we'll see them on toy stores around the launch of the film.
