A Destiny Player Compiled All 18 New Emotes So You Can See What They Look Like

Destiny’s Eververse Trading Company opens today, introducing microtransactions to the year-old game. Thankfully, Bungie is giving you some seed money (in the form of the real-money currency, “silver”).

Silver (and, by extension, real money) is only used for cosmetic items. These are currently represented by a selection of 18 different emotes.

These will be live when the 2.0.1 update hits later today, which will also reveal exactly how much silver will run you. For now, YouTube user and Destiny community member SoMxStation has compiled all 18 of these into one video.

New Arkham Knight Characters Unlocked For AR Challenges

Batman: Arkham Knight developer Rocksteady Studios has made character selection available in the game’s AR Challenge mode beginning today, according to a tweet by the developer. Players can now control one of eight different characters in any of the game’s AR challenges.

Unlike previous entries in the series, Arkham Knight didn't feature the ability to choose your character out of the box. This update adds that function back in with the large roster of playable characters featured throughout the story.

Playable characters include Batman, Nightwing, Red Hood, Robin, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Azrael, and Batgirl. Game director Sefton Hill also stated last month that additional predator maps will be arriving in November.

More Than 9 Million Played The Star Wars Battlefront Beta

With the Star Wars Battlefront beta wrapping up this morning, EA and DICE are putting some numbers to the weekend’s activities. Across the three platforms (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC), more than 9 million players played Drop Zone, Walker Assault, and Survival modes.

With so much hype around Episode VII: The Force Awakens, it’s no surprise that this was EA’s largest beta. Unfortunately, we don’t know the spread across platforms or if it ousted Call of Duty: Black Ops III as the largest beta in the PS4’s two-year history.

For more, check out our impressions of the Star Wars Battlefront beta. You’ll be able to visit Hoth, Tatooine, Endor, and Sullust on November 17.

Humble Bundle Cuts Staff After 'Too Ambitious' Hirings

Charity organization Humble Bundle has laid off a dozen of its staff – 20 percent of its overall personnel – after a hiring phase that its co-founder admits was "too ambitious."

"Unfortunately, last week Humble Bundle was forced to let go of some of our employees," John Graham, co-founder, told Polygon. "Despite strong revenue, and our community surpassing $65 million raised for charity to date, our past hiring was too ambitious and we had to make a hard call last week."

Humble Bundle sells packages of games and other products, with consumers deciding how much they want to pay. A portion of the sale goes to charity.

Archer Pinball Is Real And Happening Very Soon

There are few shows on television that give me the giggles like Archer. The dialog, acting, and absurd scenarios have made it one of the best shows on the air right now. Zen Studios seems to agree.

Archer, Lana, Mallory, and the rest of the (please don’t call them ISIS anymore) crew are coming to Pinball FX2. The Archer table rounds out the four animated “Balls of Glory” offerings, which are going to be bundled next week for consoles, PC, and mobile devices.

Sony Presumptuously Names Bloodborne Game Of The Year Before 2015 Is Even Over

“Game of the Year” editions aren’t a new phenomenon. Dragon Age: Inquisition just received one last week, for instance. But Sony is trying something different. It’s releasing one before any outlets actually award their annual superlatives.

While Bloodborne is quite good, bundling it up with its downloadable content as a “Game of the Year” edition is presumptuous. Still, that’s what Sony is doing in Europe.

The package, which includes the base game and the upcoming The Old Hunters DLC, has been confirmed for a November 25 release in Europe. There’s no word yet on a North American outing.

Ubisoft Clarifies Might & Magic Heroes VII Collector's Edition Confusion

Gamers who purchased the collector's edition of Might & Magic Heroes VII were disappointed to find a digital download code where they expected a game box to be, among other surprises.

Ubisoft says the mix up was caused by the fact that it mentioned the game was a download while showing an image (above) that referenced a box copy. Gamers have compiled an imgur detailing how a twitch unboxing of the edition by Ubisoft showed a DVD of the game and other apparent visual evidence.

There are also posts on the Ubisoft forum by readers who say they did not receive a soundtrack CD and that there was no digital code in its place.

Physical Version Of The Witcher 3: Hearts Of Stone (And Its Gwent Cards) Delayed In North America

We’ve been waiting for information about the physical version of the first The Witcher 3 expansion. Fans have been holding out for it thanks to the packed-in Gwent decks. Unfortunately, it has been delayed for a number of days.

The news popped up on CD Projekt’s forums. There, it was also confirmed that the physical edition is a GameStop (Disclosure: GameStop is Game Informer’s parent company) exclusive.

If it’s the Gwent cards you’re after, you can still purchase the expansion pass and order your cards from the CD Projekt redemption site. You can read our impressions of the DLC to learn more about Hearts of Stone.
