Battlefield 4 Free Operation Outbreak Map Designed With The Community Out Today

Earlier this month, we shared a first look at a Battlefield 4 map designed in partnership with the community. Today, you can start playing on it for free.

You’ll need to queue up your Operation Outbreak download manually. It’ll be available today on Origin, the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox Games Store.

The map takes place in the jungle, but could have been set in the desert or the mountains. The community opted for the lush foliage, which is perfect for hiding and stealthy knife kills.

Cryptozoic, which is just days away from delivering its Kickstarted Ghostbusters board game, has another product in which you might be interested. The cake is forever a lie, but you can try to nab a piece anyway in this Portal tabletop game.

First revealed in early 2014, Cryptozoic’s take on Valve’s masterful puzzle game now bears an thematically appropriate subtitle. Portal: The Uncooperative Cake Acquisition Game features a variety of different test chambers, subject miniatures, cake slices, and (of course) a companion cube.

Oh, and GLADOS is here. She has a score to settle, too.

Rock Band 4 Interim Title Update Coming Early November

Harmonix has said that it will continue to update the Rock Band 4 experience in ways other than downloadable content, and today the developer delivered an update on an interim patch for the game that will arrive before the scheduled major title update in December. The interim update primarily focuses on allowing custom characters as stand-ins for your band, but there are other smaller details ironed out by this upcoming patch.

The big change for fans of Rock Band 4 is that the newest update adds the ability for players to select custom characters as stand-ins for their band for career mode. If you exit out and go into quickplay, the most recent stand-ins will join you there. In addition, audiophiles will notice an upgrade to 5.1 surround crowd audio support and an adjustment to the microphone volume. The patch also adds the ability for PlayStation 4 users to activate vocal overdrive through the PS4 controller's touchpad, and the ability to stream audio through the PS4.

Bungie and Activision are celebrating Halloween in Destiny with candy, masks, and frightful screams. Oh, and if you’re into the whole paid cosmetic thing, there are three new emotes to purchase.

The Festival of the Lost starts today, with the Tower decorated for the holiday. A spooky purple hue, candles, and paper engrams are scattered about the plaza.

Mojang Moves Cobalt To February 2016

about X hours ago from

Minecraft’s Cobalt, which was demoed for Xbox One at Gamescom, has slipped into next year. You won’t need to wait long into 2016, though. Mojang expects it to be available in February.

The competitive action game developed by Oxeye was originally scheduled for release this Friday, October 30. Unfortunately, while the game is largely done, bug squashing is taking a bit longer than expected.

“We’ve been working on Cobalt for a long time and, though the game is feature complete, our current build is buggier than we’re comfortable with. We want every part of Cobalt – the campaign, challenges, and local and online multiplayer to live up to your expectations, no matter which platform you play it on. That’s going to require a bit more development time,” Mojang writes.
