Save Professor Einstein J. Cinnamon In Stinger On The Wii U Virtual Console

Konami's Stinger for the NES is now available on the NES Virtual Console.

I'm not personally familiar with Stinger, but its description on Nintendo's website reads, "Aliens from the planet Attackon have kidnapped Professor Einstein J. Cinnamon," which is frankly all I need to know. If that's enough, however, know that the enemies are plotting to turn Earth into cotton candy.

Replay – Fallout: Brotherhood Of Steel

about X hours ago from

Everyone knows about the numbered Fallouts, but the series did have a few offshoots before Bethesda reinvigorated the franchise with Fallout 3. Today we look at one that has become mostly forgotten.

Released in 2004 and developed by Interplay, Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel used the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance engine to create a Fallout action RPG. The intentions were noble – create a game similar to the popular Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, add guns and set it in the Fallout universe, but the results were mixed. It garnered mostly middling reviews, marked Interplay's last Fallout title, and was the beginning of a four year gap in the series that wasn't ended until the release of Fallout 3 in 2008.

We skipped the game's opening, dialogue heavy moments and opted to jump straight to the game's first boss. Make sure to stick around for the second segment where we play a little-known mascot platformer that everyone but me inexplicably loved.

The Game Informer crew has a full weekend planned taking part in the Extra Life 2015 Livestream. How about you? Tell us what you plan to play before wandering into The Commonwealth.

Tim Turi (@timturi) - This weekend I’ll be joining in with a ton of the Game Informer staff for Extra Life 2015. We have a lot of awesome stuff people can win, from an Xbox One Elite Bundle to copies of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Come for the prizes, stay for the 24 hours of wackiness for a good cause.

Ben Hanson (@yozetty) - This weekend I'll be playing the game of trying to stay awake during our red hot Extra Life marathon stream! Tune in, donate at bit.ly/extralife_gi, and join the fun! I'll probably be playing some Yo-Kai Watch on my 3DS when I get the chance, and the rest of the time will be devoted to playing games on camera or manning the control room. Tune in!

Borderlands Online Canceled As Take-Two Closes 2K China

Take-Two has decided to eliminate its studio in Shanghai, China after a decision was made to cancel the in-development Borderlands Online. The move does not impact the successful NBA 2K Online, which is handled by the Singapore location.

The publisher confirmed the news in a statement to GamesIndustry.biz earlier today. The decision was made as more work was required on the adaptation of Gearbox’s Borderlands franchise. The Shanghai studio was home to approximately 150 employees.

“We determined that the additional time required to finish current projects at the studio, particularly Borderlands Online, would not yield a favorable return on investment,” the publisher told GamesIndustry.biz.
