Rock Band 4 Gets Difficulty Mode That’s Harder Than Expert

If you’ve played Rock Band until your fingers are blue and now find yourself churning through Expert guitar solos in your sleep, then Rock Band 4’s newest difficulty setting might give you a run for your money.

IGN has the scoop on Rock Band 4’s new difficulty mode. Apparently, Brutal will feature the same note layout as Expert, however the notes will disappear as they get closer to the strum bar. The better you play, the hard the mode will get, meaning you’ll have to memorize the layouts a bit to master them.

Additionally, no-fail mode is automatically toggled off on Brutal mode, if you're playing in a group then everyone must play on Brutal.

Carrie Fisher Jokes About The

Carrie Fisher is currently making the press rounds for her forthcoming film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and has been amusing as ever in many of her interviews, but hasn't revealed much about the role General Leia Organa will play 30-some years after the events of Return of the Jedi. Talking with The Wall Street Journal, Fisher was asked about the recent controversy surrounding Disney's rumored decision to no longer produce merchandise featuring the image of the bikini-clad "Slave Leia." For those of you who haven't seen Return of the Jedi, Leia was a slave to a crime lord named Jabba the Hutt, and was chained to him while wearing next to nothing.

"I think that's stupid," Fisher said of the debate. 'The father who flipped out about it, “What am I going to tell my kid about why she’s in that outfit?' Tell them that a giant slug captured me and forced me to wear that stupid outfit, and then I killed him because I didn’t like it. And then I took it off. Backstage."

Meet The Two Newest Members Of Team Game Informer!

Game Informer is adding to the family. Today we're happy to announce the hiring of a new associate editor and graphic designer.

Our latest edition to the editorial staff is Javy Gwaltney, who joins us from the freelance world. You may have come across his work at Playboy, Paste, Killscreen, Vice, and other publications. Or perhaps you played his indie text adventure The Terror Aboard the Speedwell. Javy (pronounced jay-vee) has been fascinated by games ever since his father brought home a PC with Warcraft and Hover! installed and plopped it down in front of him. A demo for Half-life spurred his interest in the medium to full-blown obsession, leading him across galaxies and beneath seas, letting him explore a myriad of interactive universes. You can learn more about him by reading his introductory blog or by following him on Twitter here.

Psychonauts 2 Is A Third Of The Way Funded In Under A Day

Fans have been waiting over 10 years for a Psychonauts sequel, and it appears they won't be waiting too much longer. Double Fine Productions' crowdfunded campaign for Psychonauts 2 eclipsed $1 million of its $3.3 million goal in under 15 hours from over 8,000 people. With 34 days remaining in the campaign, and backers continuing to fly in, the odds of Psychonauts 2 become a reality are looking better with each passing minute.

Double Fine has found great success in game crowdfunding, and is one of the most successful game developers to rely on fans for support. Double Fine's Broken Age Kickstarter campaign crushed its $400,000 goal with over $3.3 million raised, and Massive Chalice raised over $1.2 million, but needed just $725,000.

Psychonauts 2 is different than the previous Kickstarters not just because of the change in venue to Fig. This is the first major video game crowdfunding effort to allow non-accredited investors to earn a return on their contribution.

Rise Of The Tomb Raider Endurance Mode, Two Story DLC Packs Detailed

Rise Of The Tomb Raider Endurance Mode, Two Story DLC Packs Detailed

Last night at The Game Awards, Microsoft and Crystal Dynamics introduced the first of two story add-ons for Rise of the Tomb Raider. Today, the rest of the season pass has been detailed, including an interesting twist on the franchise.

Coming first, on December 29, is a new endurance mode that turns Rise of the Tomb Raider into a wilderness survival game. Lara will have to scrounge for supplies, and everything consumes resources as Lara must stay warm, feed herself, and fend off animals and enemies. It sounds like Don't Starve meets Tomb Raider.

The two story campaigns, launching next year, are yesterday’s newly announced Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch and Cold Darkness Awakened. The latter sounds a bit like a 28 Days Later scenario, as some kind of infections sends animals and people into a frenzy.

about X hours ago from

Sega has announced significant changes to its current year fiscal performance. The company is dropping expectations across the board for the year ending March 31, 2016.

While sales are only dropping by 15.5 percent from ¥420 billion ($3.4 billion) to ¥355 billion ($2.9 billion). Operating income forecast has been reduced by 60 percent from ¥25 billion ($203 million) to ¥10 billion ($81.2 million). Profits are expected to plummet from original expectations by 89.5 percent from ¥19 billion ($154 million) to ¥2 billion ($16.2 million).

Sega pins the dramatic differences on two key areas. Pachinko and pachislot machine sales are exceedingly weak. The publisher will be restructuring that division.
