Report: Activision’s Unannounced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Game Has An Achievement List

Don’t be shell shocked. Back in November, we reported that Activision and Platinum are teaming up again for another licensed game.

After a middling effort with The Legend of Korra and a significantly more impressive outing with Transformers: Devastation, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game gave us hope. And while we’re still waiting for the title to be officially confirmed, we’ve got more evidence it’s happening.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan has not been officially acknowledged yet. It does have an achievement list though, according to the often reliable XboxAchievements.com

Scalebound Delayed, Takes Wing To 2017

Microsoft has already lost a major exclusive for 2016. Platinum’s Scalebound is no longer bound for release this year.

The title was showcased at Microsoft’s Gamescom press conference, where we saw gameplay for the first time. Unfortunately, Platinum is going to need more time to put it in your hands.

“Development on the game is going well and we’re really happy with how it’s coming together,” the studio writes. “Scalebound is one of the biggest games PlatinumGames has ever created: an epic adventure filled with exploration and fantasy gameplay, inventive multiplayer, and action-packed battles on an unbelievable scale – all set in a beautiful and evolving world. It’s the game our team has always dreamed of making.”

Man Leaves His Super Nintendo On For Nearly 20 Years To Preserve His Save

Twitter user WaniKun really, really, really did not want to part with his save of Umihara Kawase.

Certain cartridge game suffered from a flaw where the save within the cartridge would die once the batteries were dead. Wanikun had a novel solution for this: he kept his console on for nearly 20 years.

He did have to unplug the console once while moving but managed to hook the game back up before he lost his save but still, he calculates that the console has been running for nearly 180,000 hours.

[Update] More Information On Reported Activision Buyout Of MLG

Update: Following yesterday's reports of an MLG buyout by Activision, a bit more information has emerged. While there is still not enough to determine if a deal has been signed, it seems that one fear amongst eSports viewers might be assuaged.

MLG senior vice president of league operations and production Adam Apicella shared some thoughts via Twitter that point to continued operation of non-Activision games. While this would obviously be the case if a buyout isn't happening, those concerned about what might occur if Activision were to assume control might be able to breathe easy.

HNY! Excited about the new year from our CSGO Minor, Offline Qualifiers, to of course the Major. See you soon!

Seven Year Old Spends Nearly $6,000 On Mobile Game Without His Father Knowing

Mohamed Shugaa was surprised when his bank card was declined after trying to pay off some business expenses. When he checked his account, he found a number of iTunes transactions that added up to £3,911.

It turned out that Shugaa's son, Faisall, had racked up the bill playing playing Jurassic World: The Game and purchasing Dino Bucks, in-game currency used to buy upgrades.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Shugaa said that he didn't know his son knew the password to his iPad and "Faisall is only seven and doesn't understand the real value of money and what the payments in the game involved."
