Obsidian and Pathfinder publisher Paizo have announced the release date for their first partnership. Obsidian is converting the popular Pathfinder Adventure Card Game from tabletop to digital, and you won’t need to wait terribly long to play it.
Pathfinder Adventures is played with digital cards, though it isn’t a collectible game. Each player starts with basic equipment and a unique deck for their in-game character. Through encounters with enemies and events, will earn new gear, spells, and abilities.
The base game, Rise of the Runelords, will be expanded through additional adventure packs. If the model mimics the tabletop version, there will be a number of lengthy quests included in the core experience, with character progress and story carrying over to the expansions. The difference here is that when the game launches on March 29, you’ll be able to get a taste for free with a tutorial and the first leg of the adventure, Perils of the Lost Cost.

The Thieves Guild has long been a staple of The Elder Scrolls' series, and the beloved (by some) faction is coming to The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. Bethesda has released a teaser for the upcoming DLC, which shows just a few of the shadowy activities its recruits can expect to join in on.
According to Bethesda, players will do the usual Thieves Guild activities, including sneaking, finding lost treasure and – naturally – stealing your share of the loot. The upcoming Thieves Guild DLC will include a new zone with additional story content, a new 12-player trial, and more.

A lawsuit filed against Oculus in May 2015 will be allowed to continue, a U.S. District Court has determined. Judge William Alsup has ruled that a claim made against the VR company by Total Recall Technologies will be allowed to continue.
Total Recall filed suit against Oculus for breach of contract, fraud, and “wrongful exploitation” of intellectual property. All but the breach claim has been dismissed.
The suit claims that Luckey was contracted by Total Recall to build a virtual reality head-mounted display (like the Rift). The company asserts that the Oculus Kickstarter, which touched off the contemporary VR movement, was operated while Luckey was under contract.

Last night, we reported that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings was suddenly free on Xbox Live. Now we understand why that might have happened (and you can still grab it through February 5).
CD Projekt's first console installment for the series leads the list of Xbox One backward compatible games for January. The rest of the list isn't quite as high profile, and you can check it out below.
We're still waiting on a few promised titles, including BioShock, BioShock Infinite, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and Halo Wars. The Witcher 2 is the only game from the Top 25 most requested titles to make an appearance this month.

GameInformer News We still don’t know anything about what’s coming in the Star Wars Battlefront paid DLC, but hints of free add-ons have emerged. A video from EA Brazil that has now been removed, suggests what’s coming next for the shooter.
VideoGamer reports that prior to its removal, the video discussed a new map and some new looks for our heroes. The new battleground is allegedly set on Tatooine. It’s not clear if this is a big map for Walker Assault, something smaller, or both.
The video, which was translated by WCCFTech.com (which still has a copy of the video), also indicates that there are new outfits coming for Luke and Leia. You can also hear mention of daily challenges and private matches, which stand out even if you don’t speak Portuguese.

GameInformer News You can't use the Force to knock opponents off of the road, or strap two giant engines on the front of your ride to experience extreme pod racing speeds, but if you're willing to spend a little time shopping, you can fill the track with cars decked out in Star Wars-themed paint. A lot of it is damn impressive and shows off the artistic talents of the Forza community.
To search for Star Wars cars specifically, enter Forza 6's "Cars" menu, and select "Find a Car." Next, select the car manufacturer of your choosing along with a specific car. After a brief load, a gallery of paint and decal options will appear. Don't scroll through this selection – instead look to the lower right for the search function. Use it and change the keyword 1 to "Sci-Fi." Hit search and scroll through the options. You can also enter "Star Wars" as a description, but the game would sometimes stall on the search or bring back nothing at all, as the creator of the car.
I now want to play through the game more to earn the credits needed to add these beautiful rides to my collection. I didn't search every vehicle type, but here are the best examples that I found:

Yesterday, Microsoft announced that it will be launching an education edition designed for classroom learning. The company acquired MinecraftEdu, a program that has been running since 2011. Given how long Minecraft has been used in the classroom, we were interested in learning more about how educators were evidencing its usefulness in teaching the curriculum.
MinecraftEdu is a specially designed version of Mojang’s popular sandbox game for use in the classroom and compatible with education-focused mods. It was developed and run (up until the Microsoft acquisition) by two individuals, with a network of approximately 7,000 classrooms in more than 40 countries. Approximately half of those classes are in the United States.
Minecraft's value as an entertainment experience is unquestioned. Millions of copies have been sold, and children (and adults) across the world have become enthralled by the possibilities it unlocks. However, the connective tissue between the creative experience and educational outcomes is a crucial piece of any tool brought into the classroom. The sooner Microsoft can begin putting data behind its claims, the easier time it will have bringing more teachers on board.
