Her Story Follow-Up Teased By Developer

Sam Barlow's Her Story (shown) captured the imagination of gamers and was a title we tabbed as one of our Top 50 games of last year. Now the developer has begun work on a follow-up with the working title Her Story 2.

In the follow-up tweets to the tease below, Barlow says that his next game will have "no relation story wise to Her Story" and clarifies that "Her Story 2" is a working title.

Either way, we couldn't be more excited to see what Barlow has cooking.

Civilization Revolution 2 Plus Gets Another 11th Hour Delay, No New Date Announced

Vita owners are having the rug pulled out from under them again at the last minute. 2K has announced that the Vita port of Civilization Revolution 2, due to release tomorrow, January 26, has been significantly delayed.

2K does not have an estimated release window beyond “2016.” “Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution 2 Plus for PlayStation Vita is now launching in North America and Europe later this year,” the publisher writes. “The team is hard at work making sure the title lives up to fans' expectations, and we appreciate your continued patience as we take the time needed to prepare the title for global release in 2016.”

Civilization Revolution 2 Plus was originally due for release in December 2015. 2K announced a last minute delay just a day before intended release at that point, also.

Payday Creator’s New Studio Working On Cooperative First-Person Shooter

In 2015, Payday creator and Overkill co-founder Ulf Andersson left behind the studio he helped found in 2009. Upon his departure, he founded 10 Chambers Collective, which today revealed some details about its first game.

While the title doesn’t yet have a name, Andersson suggests that it will follow Payday’s cooperative pedigree. "The best and most memorable moments in life are often ones that you share with others and we believe the same goes for gaming" Andersson says. "In our new game, cooperation will be essential as you progress through the game, the further in you get the more you have to work together."

We’ll share more details as they become available. For now, it seems like Andersson is building upon what he knows from his time working on Payday.

Figma Figures Make Virtua Fighters A Bit Less Virtual

Figma Figures Make Virtua Fighters A Bit Less Virtual

The original Virtua Fighter characters are laughable by today's standards, but there's something endearing about their blocky bodies. We're clearly not alone, as toy manufacturer Figma is bringing two of the game's fighters to shelves.

Akira and Sarah will be available this September, though we'll have to wait on further details, such as price. Akira has a regrettable case of victory face; perhaps the characters will come with alternate heads, like some of their previously released toys,

Figma is on a roll lately. In addition to these guys, the company recently announced that it was releasing a Link figure based on A Link Between Worlds.

The Awakening DLC will not be available on the last-gen home consoles.

about X hours ago from

Today brings good news for Valkyria Chronicles fans in western territories. Sega has confirmed that the previously announced remastered version will be released globally.

With last year’s release of the game on PC, it might have been assumed that Sega would export the remastered version. However, the series’ history left fans wondering.

Valkyria Chronicles 3, released (like its immediate predecessor) on PSP never made its way outside of Japan. Fans still eagerly await releases of the second and third entries on contemporary platforms.

No, Bungie And Activision Aren’t Going To Charge Real Money For Destiny Ammo

You might have seen a report this morning that claims that Destiny will be getting a new form of microtransaction. If you’re worried about Bungie and Activision charging for heavy ammo synth, you can rest easy.

We reached out to Activision, who was quick to dismiss VG 24/7’s report from a single source as false. “We’re not doing that,” a representative told us via email.

Destiny has been the subject of other reports recently, including with Kotaku indicating via multiple sources that the second installment in the series might be moved out of 2016. That report also indicates that the future of the blockbuster series is in flux as higher-ups determine what content to release as part of Destiny and what to hold for the sequel.

Mighty No. 9 Delayed Once More, No New Release Date Announced

Mighty No. 9 was scheduled for release in two weeks, but an 11th hour change has disrupted those plans. The game will miss its latest launch date of February 9, and developer Comcept now does not have an estimated release window.

The developer broke the news to Kickstarter backers today pinning the blame on network and porting issues. The company says it is being forced to rewrite Unreal Engine 3 code, because the technology is no longer being supported.

We’ve inquired with Epic whether Comcept has sought help from the Unreal Engine developer. We’ll update should we receive a response.

Starbreeze Studios To Build A Virtual Reality Arcade In Los Angeles

about X hours ago from

Starbreeze Studios, the developer behind The Darkness and Syndicate, has revealed plans to establish a virtual reality arcade, with the development name for the project being "StarCade." The developer laid out the reasoning behind the initiative yesterday during its presentation at the VRLA Winter Expo and later sent out a press release containing the key points from the presentation:

“We continue to iterate the fact that VR really needs to be experienced in person to fully be able to appreciate the phenomenon, and why not have your first experience in a real premium setting in our StarVR headset? We’ve managed to secure a prime location where people are welcome to step into our StarCade and enjoy our OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead VR experience.” said Starbreeze CTO Emmanuel Marquez. He continued, “We’re developing our own StarCade catalogue of experiences, but we’re open to any content. We will invite developers to join us and give them the opportunity to put their content in our StarCade. We as an industry continuously need to educate ourselves to make VR truly successful, and this is just the first step in our planning to do so.”

Rumor: More Details From Canceled Legacy Of Kain Game Revealed

Anybody remember Legacy of Kain? Nifty little series filled with angry vampires doing nasty things. The spin-off series from Kain, Soul Reaver, was probably one of the more memorable action-adventure titles of the late '90s. In 2012, there was new entry in the series being developed called Dead Suns. It starred a new protagonist and was being developed by Climax Studios, with Psyonix creating a multiplayer component. Dead Suns was eventually canceled and Psyonix went on to create a fully-fledged free-to-play multiplayer game set in Legacy of Kain's universe called Nosgoth (and a little game you might have heard of called Rocket League).

Since Dead Suns' cancelation, details about the project have drifted shown up on NeoGaf from time to time, revealing screenshots, footage of gameplay, and concept art. Eventually the game's existence and cancelation were verified by George Kelion, the former community manager for Square Enix Europe. Today, some more concept art and renders supposedly from the project have popped up on the forum.
