A Corgi Gun? XCOM 2 Mod Support Is Working As Intended

XCOM 2 is out today, and modders are already starting to flex their muscles. You can add submachine guns to your arsenal. A Muton Centurion enemy type can show up and give your squad trouble with another user-created add-on. Oh, and then there’s a corgi gun.

The ACORG-47 transforms your weapon into the most vicious of animals: the Welsh Corgi. This diminutive dog should not be underestimated. Because it shoots bullets.

Creator JonTerp set out to replace the floating Gremlin bot with a corgi, but was unable to make it work. In a freak experiment, he was able to get the gun model to change and, thus, the ACORG-47 was born.

PSA: Steam Lunar New Year Sale Running Now Through September 12

Steam sales are becoming sentient. For the winter sale, we were encouraged to look daily at our recommendation queues. This time out, Valve has a new way to connect us with games we might not even know we want yet.

The Steam Lunar New Year sale runs today through February 12. And if you’re not sure what to get, Valve is eager to help.

Through a choose-your-own-adventure mechanic, you’ll be routed to different pages of themed games. For instance, if you choose “swim” in the image above, you’ll be taken to a list of aquatic themed games. These choices appear at the bottom of each list, should you wish to explore deeper.

about X hours ago from

Daybreak has announced major changes for its open-world, zombie survival game, H1Z1. The studio has been on parallel development paths with two core concepts, the sandbox survival game and a battle royale mode. Those are now splitting into two separate early access products.

The two games, H1Z1: Just Survive and H1Z1: King of the Kill will be developed by two different teams. The split will happen on February 17, and the 2.5 million people that already own H1Z1 and those that purchase between now and then will get both for the existing price of $19.99. After that, each game will carry that price (essentially doubling the cost for people who want both after February 17).

The battle royale game will be out first, with more modes (including one focused on vehicles) to be introduced on the road to its release this summer on PC, but also Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Betas are planned on console before release, also.

The app gives fans a central place to buy Final Fantasy games, books, music, and collectibles; check out trailers and dev commentary; and play Final Fantasy VIII's Triple Triad card game. And now, until February 14, it's a place where you can download a free game. Not bad.

Clueless Gamer Returns With A Super Bowl Showdown: Doom Edition

In what's becoming a Super Bowl tradition, Conan O'Brien met up with a couple of NFL players in advance of the big game for some gaming where the stakes are considerably lower. This year, he's joined by Von Miller from the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers' Josh Norman as they blast apart demons in Doom.

Watch the video to see some killer improv, questionable hat choices, and a surprise appearance from a returning guest. It all culminates to a test of survival where, as it turns out, using your brain is as critical to succeeding as keeping it safely tucked in your skull.
