Report: Nintendo To Cease Production Of Wii U During 2016

A new report out of Japan suggests big changes on the hardware front. Nintendo may be set to cease production of the Wii U.

According to Nikkei the company be looking to deplete its existing stock. The publication suggests that some accessories have already ended their production runs, though no specifics have been indicated.

Nintendo has promised it would share more information on its next hardware, NX, in 2016. Whether that will be at E3 or a standalone event during the year is unclear.

Artist Creates Colossal Pikachu Mosaic Using 12,987 Trading Cards

The year-long celebration of Pokémon's 20th anniversary continues with a partnership between The Pokémon Company International and British artist Quentin Devine. Unveiled in Paris today, Devine has crafted a massive Pikachu card that is the world's largest trading card mosaic at the time of this writing.

Devine assembled the world-record holding mosaic by arranging 12,987 Pokémon cards. The hulking card measures out to be about 10.9 yards tall by 7.7 yards wide, totaling at roughly 770 square feet. The original Pikachu image depicted in the mosaic was created by Pokémon illustrator Ken Sugimori.

Capcom Celebrates Resident Evil 20th Anniversary With New Dev Video

March 22, 1996 was an important day in the history of survival-horror. That was the day gamers were first introduced to a secluded manor where Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, and company would first come face-to-face with the horrors of the T-virus. In honor of the anniversary, Capcom is celebrating with a new video that highlights the work that has gone into creating the series.

The new video includes details from the development team regarding details of the series’ original rise to prominence, with commentary from producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi. 

In addition to the below video, Capcom is sharing some of its own sales info about the franchise’s success, which declare that over 66 million game copies have been sold in the last 20 years. Resident Evil has also virally spawned a long-running movie series, which against all odds has managed to gross almost a billion dollars worldwide.

[Update] Bully Hits PS4, XCOM: Enemy Unknown Plus Lands On Vita

Update: Gamers in North America can now purchase two of these games. Bully is available now for PlayStation 4 ($14.99). XCOM: Enemy Unknown Plus is out on Vita, too ($19.99).

We're still waiting to see if Manhunt shows up on PlayStation 4 today. We'll update should anything change.

IO Interactive and publisher Square Enix are tweaking Hitman’s post-launch plan a bit today. The Elusive Targets, a feature that gives you one chance to take out a target before they are gone for good, has been delayed.

This piece of Hitman’s live feature set will now be released closer to the next installment taking place in Sapienza, Italy. Until then, IO Interactive will release two new escalation contracts every week.

These task you with a hit, but up the challenge with new elements at each new stage. The two additions this week require you to use blade and poison to eliminate your targets.

Telltale's The Walking Dead Season 3 Will Be Out This Year

Telltale is returning in full force to the world of The Walking Dead this year. The studio is currently in the midst of the three-part Michonne miniseries, but there’s something more in store.

Speaking with Mashable, Telltale has confirmed that The Walking Dead Season 3 is in development and on the way. We learn more later this year, but the big news is that at least one episode will be out in 2016.

Because many players have upgraded or otherwise switched platforms, Telltale recognizes that it needs to improve its save porting. Choice is important in Telltale games, and having to replay earlier seasons on new platforms to get things just right is a bit of a drag.

Isn't today full of surprises? Right now, XCOM Enemy Unknown Plus is available for Vita on the UK PlayStation Store. Better yet? Manhunt and Bully are also playable on the PS4 as PS2 Classics.

We'll have to wait for confirmation on a release on the U.S. PlayStation store, but this is a pretty good sign. 

Bully and Manhunt are selling for £11.99, while XCOM Enemy Unknown Plus has a £15.99 price tag.
