Binding Of Isaac Creator Announces The Legend Of Bum-Bo, Places Mew-Genics On Hold

Edmund McMillen, creator of The Binding of Isaac and co-creator of Super Meat Boy, announced a new game while essentially cancelling another.

The new game, The Legend of Bum-Bo is being co-created by McMillen with James Id. The game will be a randomly generated turn based puzzle RPG with mysterious ties to The Binding of Isaac. McMillen is promising more teases to come soon on the Binding of Isaac blog.

Alongside this new project, McMillen is still (supposedly) working on the mobile game, Super Meat Boy Forever, but the other project from Team Meat (comprised of Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes), Mew-Genics, is on hold indefinitely. McMillen confirmed Mew-Genics' uncertain future to Eurogamer saying, "I'm unsure of its future but there is a chance we will attempt to revamp it in a few years with a new design of mine that will push it in a new direction that will hopefully make it more exciting for both of us to work on. But sadly till then it's not gunna happen."

The Nintendo 64's Yoshi's Story Arrives On Wii U Virtual Console Tomorrow

Yoshi's story is the tenth Nintendo 64 game to make its way to the Wii U's Virtual Console.

Released three years after the Super Nintendo's Yoshi's Island, Yoshi's Story was the game that truly separated Yoshi's Island from the Super Mario series of games. The game, which will be available tomorrow, will be the standard $9.99 Wii U Virtual Console N64 game price.

We gave the game an 8.5 when it released in 1998.

Overwatch Patch Adds Now Mode, New Map, And Improves ‘Play Of The Game’ Feature

If you’re in the Overwatch closed beta, you’ve got something new to look forward to for your next play session. Blizzard has added a couple of new things and tweaked one of the game’s most enjoyed features.

At the end of each match, players are treated to a “play of the game.” This is similar to Call of Duty’s last kill, but is instead designed to feature a key highlight from the entire match.

In order to make sure that the best moments are surfaced, Blizzard has revamped what it’s capturing. Short clips will be grabbed in four different categories: High Score, Lifesaver, Sharpshooter, and Shutdown.

Join Game Informer At This Year's Glitch Con For A Live Super Replay And Panels

For the second consecutive year, Game Informer is joining forces with Glitch Con for two days of gaming discussions, tournaments, and fun. Many of Game Informer's staffers will be in attendance for both of Glitch Con's show days, held at the University of Minnesota on April 29 and 30.

After successfully recording our first live Replay episode at Glitch Con last year, we're upping the stakes this year with a live Super Replay. Think of it as a lock-in scenario for six hours with plenty of food and beverages to consume. The live Super Replay (of a secret game) begins Friday at 8 p.m. and runs until 1 a.m. It'll be a long haul, but we promise it'll be either a good time or a complete disaster. Either way, you won't want to miss it.

On the next day, join Kimberley Wallace for Gender vs. Gaming: A Discussion at 3 p.m. This panel explores the relationship between gender and digital games, discussing obstacles and hopes for the future. Participants also include Intropy Games designer Lisa Walkosz-Migliacio, Techno Buffalo writer Eric Frederiksen, and  Minnesota School of Business game & development application teacher Ashley Godbold.

Rumor: Controller Pictures Matching Nintendo Patent Appear Online

about X hours ago from

Nintendo hasn’t said anything about its next console, the NX, other than its code name and that we’ll get more information this year. However, images similar to a rough patent sketch have appeared online leaving people wondering.

The images posted to Reddit resemble the shape and display seen in a Nintendo patent uncovered in December 2015. That patent, while assumed to be for the NX, wasn't clearly labeled as such. The images above and below were posted by a user going by the name of “Perkele37.”

He or she says that this is a dev-kit. There are no face buttons, only the upper parts of the sticks move (similar to the 3DS circle pad), and there are rollers similar to mouse scroll wheels near the top. Perkele37 also suggests that there is some form of gentle haptic feedback and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom.
