Boba Fett Was Almost The Main Villain In Return Of The Jedi

Boba Fett Was Almost The Main Villain In Return Of The Jedi

When Boba Fett fell into the sarlacc pit in Return of the Jedi, it seemed like an unfitting death for one of Star Wars' most menacing villains, but we now know it was somewhat of a symbolic move by series creator George Lucas.

In an interview with Inverse, Craig Miller, Lucasfilm's fan relations officer, said that Boba Fett was originally slated to be the central threat in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. “Originally, Boba Fett was set up in Empire as a character, and the third movie’s plot was going to be more about Boba Fett rescuing Han Solo and all of that. Boba was gonna be the main villain," Miller said. "That was set up, why he was taking Han Solo away, why there was a thing with him in the Christmas special. When George decided not to make a third trilogy, he completely jettisoned that story line, which is why in the first ten minutes, Boba Fett gets bumped into and falls into the mouth of a giant monster. So he took what was planned for the third trilogy, which was the confrontation between Luke and Darth Vader, and the battle with the Emperor, and that got squished down from three movies to one movie. And that became the plot of Jedi.”

Captain America: Civil War Comes To Marvel Heroes

Marvel is getting quite savvy about tying its movies and television shows to video games featuring its characters. Gazillion’s Marvel Heroes has been there for the recent movie launches, and today the game is getting a dose of Captain America: Civil War additions.

Cap and Iron Man are getting new costumes, Crossbones is launching an attack on the country of Madripoor, and there are two themed mystery boxes that could nab you Captain America and Iron Man team-up heroes. Later this month, eight additional characters are getting movie costumes. They are:

Microsoft Leaks Battlefield World War I Art Confirming Setting

about X hours ago from

EA and DICE are getting ready to reveal their next Battlefield game later today, but Microsoft seems intent on spoiling the party. On Xbox One right now, you can see a tile promoting the live reveal with art that clearly points to a World War I setting.

While the mauser in the character’s hand isn’t a giveaway (it was in use from the late 1800s through the mid-1900s), the spiked club in his other is a tell. That’s a trench mace that was in use during the first world war.

The setting was rumored earlier this year, but we’ll learn more later today when the game is revealed. We had some thoughts about a Battlefield game set in World War I, which you can read here.

Fallout 4's 1.5 Update, Survival Mode Now Live On Console

about X hours ago from

The 1.5 update to Fallout 4 is now available for consoles, adding the punishing new survival mode and paving the way for May 19th's Far Harbor DLC.

The update, which was released earlier on PC, fixes a host of bugs and also gives players who are looking for a more grounded experience a chance to play without fast travel, more stringent weight limits, and more. You can read former intern Luke's impressions of survival mode here.

The download is around 2GBs, so you might want to get it started sooner than later, if you're dying to check it out.

Report: Two More Warcraft Characters, Widowmaker Nova Skin Coming To Heroes Of The Storm

Blizzard has been teasing reveals for at least one more Heroes of the Storm character for a few days now. A video that appears to have been posted early points to two new characters coming to the Nexus, new skins, and more mounts.

With the Duncan Jones’ Warcraft movie just a month away (check out an interview with him on this week’s Game Informer show), a focus on that franchise fits. The two heroes are the Gnome Chromie and the accursed human Medivh.

Additionally, the Widowmaker tease seen at the end of the Tracer reveal trailer has been confirmed as a skin for Nova. Don’t worry, though. There are plenty of Overwatch characters that could find a home in the Nexus.

What Happens When Sonic Sees His Own Future?

The real question is: What would happen if video game power-up got mixed-up and thrown into the wrong game? The answer is chaos.

Sonic sees his future, Mario rides a carpet, and one of Pac-Man’s ghosts try a phoenix down in this video from Dorkly. Hey, this is kind of similar to this over video about mixed-up power-up, which you can watch here.
