The Void Announces Ghostbusters 'Hyper-Reality' VR Experience

Last year, we told you about The Void's ambitious plans to bring virtual reality to a larger stage. Unlike consumer products like the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive, The Void is trying to carve out a niche by providing large-scale VR installations to amusement parks and other attractions. Today, the company announced its first major partnership, which will give visitors to Madame Tussauds' New York location a chance to see what it's like to be a Ghostbuster.

Ghostbusters: Dimension is being created through a partnership with Sony Pictures. Visitors can explore a recreation of the Ghostbusters' firehouse HQ, checking out props, costumes, and other memorabilia. Then they can strap on a proton pack and try their hand at Ghostbusting in an interactive experience set in a haunted apartment.

GTA Online Details Update Plans

A post on Rockstar’s newswire has provided some juicy details regarding what players can expect out of the play experience of GTA Online in the coming months and before the end of 2016.

Following on the heels of the Executives and Other Criminals release from late 2015, Rockstar has plans to implement new gameplay around contraband trafficking for your Organization. You’ll be able to buy and sell jewels, narcotics, medical supplies, and other illicit trade, all from the comfort of your HQ. Your team can get attacked when they head out to make a pickup, enemies can raid your warehouses, and a system tracks the condition of your goods as items take damage, reducing values if you’re not careful.

Rockstar is also promising new stunt driving option, including new vehicles, gear, and props for creators to build crazy stunt setups, as illustrated in the screen above.

Doom Reviews Won’t Begin Until Friday’s Launch

As we’ve done in the past, we want to give you a heads up on review timing of a major release. Bethesda has informed us that Doom reviews will not begin until launch this Friday, May 13.

The company provided a statement on the matter, suggesting that the multiplayer and SnapMap components are driving the decision. Bethesda says it wants players to take the game as a “complete package.”

“DOOM is a robust game comprised of a single-player campaign, online multiplayer, and SnapMap,” the publisher says. “All three elements are important parts of the complete DOOM experience and are meant to be experienced as part of a complete package. As DOOM’s SnapMap and multiplayer modes both require access to a server that won’t be live prior to launch, review copies will arrive on launch day.”

Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods Enter Beta After May 19

Now that PC Fallout 4 players have access to mods and the big Far Harbor DLC has a launch date, Bethesda wants console players to know that a promise will soon be fulfilled. No specific dates have been announced, but player shouldn’t have too long to wait for mods.

According to a note on Twitter, Bethesda says that it is shifting gears to focus on Xbox One mods. Console support will kick off on Microsoft’s console after Far Harbor’s launch on May 19th. Given previous promises of Xbox One mod beta launching in May, that narrows it down to a comfortable 11-day period (assuming things are still on track). PS4 mod support should arrive in June.

We’ve hit 1 million Mod downloads already on PC! Console coming soon, closed Beta for #Xbox Mods after #FarHarbor https://t.co/Mvp2BID8Pn
