The images have been removed from Polish retailer Ultima.pl, but have been captured by posterity by Titanfall subreddit member djgromo. According to the images, the two different versions include the following:

Halo Wars 2 Open Beta Coming During E3

Microsoft may have let slip one of its “and it’s available now” announcements for its press conference. It seems that a Halo Wars 2 multiplayer beta is launching on June 13.

The real-time strategy, which is under development by Creative Assembly, is the follow-up to Ensemble’s 2009 Xbox 360 game. Astute eyes over at Mondo Xbox followed a trail of breadcrumbs to find the already live product page.

We reproduced the steps, starting with Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb’s profile. There, he’s following Halo Wars 2 Open Beta. The picture above reflects what we found.

Sony Confirms PlayStation Neo’s Existence, But No E3 Presence

After all of the rumors, speculation, and leaked specifications, it’s real. Sony’s Ultra HD PlayStation 4 upgrade is coming. It just isn’t coming to E3 next week.

The news was confirmed by Sony Interactive Entertainment president and global CEO Andrew House in an interview with the Financial Times. House didn’t announce the name of the new system, but did say that it is intended to co-exist with the current PlayStation 4.

“It is intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4,” he told the Financial Times. “We will be selling both [versions] through the life cycle.”

Torment: Tides of Numenera Won't Release As Early As You Want

Torment: Tides of Numenera Won't Release As Early As You Want

The Kickstarted-funded RPG Torment: Tides of Numenera is now content complete, but inXile still has a bit of work to do on the project before it ships.

In a recent Kickstarter update from inXile founder Brian Fargo, we learned that Torment's script has over 1 million words, which means it's a beast. Unfortunately, this also means that the game's localization process could take at least six months, so the studio has teamed up with another publisher to help with the financial burden. Expect to learn more about the publisher soon. (E3?) This also means that Torment won't release this year, so the team expects to ship the product in early 2017.

Fortunately for backers, the game's beta is now opening up to everyone who contributed to the project and not just those from the higher tiers. If you contributed to the Kickstarter, you can play though the game's first act by loging onto the Torment website with your backer account and visiting the reward's page. Check out some of the game's newest images in the gallery below.

Uncharted 4 Leads Strong Month Of Software Sales In May NPD

Uncharted 4 Leads Strong Month Of Software Sales In May NPD

Today brings news from the NPD group about how the video game industry fared over the course of May, 2016. And the analysis is surprisingly strong, with a number of observations available that show the overall health of the industry.

“Overall trends across new physical software, hardware, and accessories in May 2016 rose by 4 percent, or $19.3MM, due to 18 percent growth of new physical software, which offset the 10 percent decline of hardware, and the 2 percent decline in accessories, ” notes The NPD Group’s Liam Callahan.

The clear winner this month is Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Nathan Drake’s final big adventure ruled the charts during the month; that’s especially striking given that the game only released on a single platform. The demon-killing fun of Doom was nipping at Naughty Dog’s heels. Overwatch rounds out the top three, but it’s worth noting that Blizzard’s wildly popular new shooter didn’t launch until late in the monthly cycle, so there’s good reason to believe we might see it show up again in the June numbers. Callahan notes that: “When comparing Overwatch sales for days in the market, this title doubled the sales of Doom.”

First Female Combiner Transformer Now Widely Available

about X hours ago from

For a long time, the Transformers brand of toys, TV shows, comics, games, and movies was a property squarely targeted at young boys, a fact that was represented by a cast of characters that was almost entirely male in persona, voice, and presentation. The boys who were fans as kids subsequently grew up, and formed one of the most enthusiastic collector fan communities around. At the same time, the appeal of giant robots that turn into vehicles and animals has found its way to a broader audience, and large swaths of the fan community have expressed enthusiasm for more diverse characters.

The desire for more diverse characters in the toy line was expressed through multiple fan polls in recent years, the first of which led to the creation of a new female character named Windblade, who has become a fixture in the current run of IDW comics. More recently, a subsequent fan poll last year asked enthusiasts to design the next big combiner robot that would be entering the storyline. The result is Victorion – a towering six-figure toy made up of female bots.

Activision Comments On Destiny Upgrade Path For PS3 and 360

about X hours ago from

Today marked the official reveal for Destiny: Rise of Iron. The new expansion, set to hit on September 20, marks a turning point for the game, as this is the first time that new content will only be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Players who are still engaging with the game on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 won’t be able to play the new content without changing consoles.

During today’s live stream, Bungie suggested that there may be some help coming for players who are interested in making the potentially expensive transition. The details of that help remain unclear, but a statement received by Game Informer from Activision reveals that the topic is under discussion with both Sony and Microsoft.

“We are exploring potential options for players to upgrade Destiny from last-gen to next-gen and will have more to say about that with our hardware partners soon,” the statement reads. Taken at face value, the statement suggests that Activision is still hammering out the details of how the upgrade path may work. Regardless, the publisher must feel relatively confident that some significant option will eventually be available, or it would be unlikely we’d get such a definitive statement.

Overwatch Subreddit Subscriber Base Now Larger Than Dota 2’s

Overwatch Subreddit Subscriber Base Now Larger Than Dota 2’s

If you’re looking for where the Overwatch community congregates, Reddit is a safe bet. The game’s subreddit is growing rapidly, with more than 350,000 subscribers.

The community there has already eclipsed Dota 2’s subreddit, which has more than 276,000 subscribers. Blizzard’s multiplayer shooter is closing in on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which boasts nearly 379,000 users.

With Blizzard angling to reproduce its StarCraft and Hearthstone esports successes, the subreddit usership gives us an early look at interest. Even before the competitive mode has launched, Overwatch is popular on Twitch. It's only likely to grow when there's cash on the line.
