Horizon Zero Dawn may have just been delayed, but it at least took the time to make a resounding presence at E3 via a gameplay demo.
The demo showcased Aloy hunting down a report of a demonic machine that was corrupting watchers. Her fight with the crab/scorpion showed off the game's explosion particles, and with every jump it kicked up impressive clouds of dirt and dust. the demon also was quite formidable by grabbing and hurling large boulders with its tail.
In the fight, Aloy used a number of means at her disposal, including tethering the demon to the ground with her ropecaster. The demo also showed her grappling hook and crossbow, and she's got shock and explosive traps in her arsenal.

During the Sony press conference at E3 2016, the next chapter in the Resident Evil franchise was unveiled, and you can play a demo this evening.
A mysterious dark room with a phone. Sparse lighting. Chilling, spooky mannequins. Ringing phones. It's a recipe for terror as the player explores a grim kitchen and dim-lit environs, with creepy aberrations lurking just out of sight, managing to cross the doorways just as the player tries to grab a quick peek. It's the stuff nightmares are made of, and sets the tone admirably.
Resident Evil VII will be available in full on both PlayStation VR and PS4.

An orchestral performance opened Sony's E3 conference, leading up to the publisher's first trailer: a reveal of the new God of War. This time, it looks like Norse mythology is the backdrop, with icy forests and axes replacing the Greek mythology of the previous games.
The gameplay trailer follows a character (who looks a good deal like Kratos) as he takes his son on a hunt through the woods after a deer. Things get dicey when monstrous creatures show up to cause some trouble.
You can watch the trailer in its entirety below.
