There's A Secret Easter Egg Hidden High Above The Witcher 3: Blood And Wine

YouTuber pippo311lp has found an incredibly hidden Easter Egg high on a mountain in Toussaint, the setting of The Wither 3's Blood And Wine expansion. For those who can find it, it feels like a proper thank you from developer CD Projeckt Red.

Using a debug mod allowing pippo311lp free access to the game's camera, he explored something in the distance that caught his eye: a plain on a far away mountain. Using the mod, he teleported Geralt to the place in question to find a canvas featuring a group shot of the team at CD Projekt standing together. A sweet secret from the team behind the Witcher's final adventure.

Ford Dealership Steals Firewatch Art To Promote Sale

Campo Santo’s Firewatch falls into the sub-genre of adventure games known as “walking simulators.” During the game’s story, you’ll explore the Wyoming wilderness on foot. At no point do you drive a Ford vehicle, which is what makes a new advertisement so strange.

You can see the original art above and the stolen version, used in and advertisement for Ford’s ‘Freedom’ event below via Twitter user @Panic.

Learn How Iconic Star Wars Battlefront Locations Were Created

Andrew Hamilton, art director at DICE, has uploaded three videos showing some of the different ways his team created the levels of Star Wars Battlefront. From on-set scouting in harsh environments, to how a level is actually built, this behind-the-scenes look is extremely insightful into the creation of one of last year's most beautiful games.

The most impressive of the three is the "Photogrammetry On Location" video that shows how far  DICE went to to capture reference material for Battlefront. Going to beautiful rain forests for Endor's inspiration and searching frozen caves and various harsh winter environments for Hoth, the extra mile the team went for an added layer of realism is impressive – and possibly a bit crazy. Check out the three videos below.

A Noir Inspired Witcher 3 Is A Game We Want To Play

about X hours ago from

Artist Ástor Alexander has re-imagined several of the main faces from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as characters in a noir-inspired murder mystery. And it's now a game we wish we had.

In a series of three paintings, Alexander takes Geralt, Ciri, Triss, and Yennefer and gives them a smoky, mysterious twist à la films like The Maltese Falcon and Chinatown. Notable is how Alexander also incorporates themes from The Witcher series, such as the symbols of Geralt's magical signs on the side of his gun. Check out the paintings in the gallery below.

Alexander has also done re-imagined paintings for series such as The Legend Of Zelda and Dragon Ball Z. For more on The Witcher 3, read our review of its recent expansion, Blood And Wine.[Source: Ástor Alexander]

65daysofstatic Takes No Man’s Sky Soundtrack On Tour

UK instrumental band 65daysofstatic is going on a world tour in support of its upcoming soundtrack for Hello Games Studio's No Man's Sky. The album entitled No Man’s Sky: Music for an Infinite Universe, will have the largest tour for a video game soundtrack to date.

We interviewed 65daysofstatic a couple years ago when we learned that they were providing the soundtrack for the highly anticipated sci-fi and procedurally generated video game. The digital and CD release of the soundtrack will arrive just before No Man Sky's launch  on August 5. No Man's Sky is set to release on PS4 and PC on August 9 in North American and August 10 in the UK and Europe.

A vinyl release date has not yet been set, but plans are in place for sometime this fall. A teaser for the album artwork can be seen above (click for full image), and the full artwork will be released on 65daysofstatic's social media in the coming weeks. The soundtrack has 10 tracks including a second collection of six soundscapes. You can pre-order the album here, or check out the latest track the band just released on its Soundcloud page called Red  Parallax.

His Real Name Is Jihad, And Sony Banned His PSN Account For It

His Real Name Is Jihad, And Sony Banned His PSN Account For It

One of the most common requests since the PSN’s inception is the ability to change user names. People outgrow their childhood handles, words take on new meanings over time, and sometimes your given name is “Jihad.”

Jihad Khalid Almofadda has been a PlayStation Network member for more than five years, with his first trophy earned in 2010. His PSN ID, iJihad, is directly taken from his given name (which I verified via his passport). The name directly translates as “struggling or striving” (typically toward a goal that is noble and good).

Despite his years of membership, Sony banned Almofadda yesterday. This, of course, disables any use of online services. It also has locked him out from use of his purchased content offline.
