[Update] Pokémon Go Update Fixes Google Account Security Issue

Update 2: Niantic and The Pokémon Company have pushed an update for Pokémon Go on iOS devices. The headlining update is the change to the Google account permissions scope that caused security concerns yesterday.

Also included in the patch is enhanced support and stability for Pokémon Trainer login, fixes for some elements causing crashes, and a fix for having to enter your login information after a hard crash.

Upon loading the game after the update, Pokémon Go asked for permission to send push notifications. Hopefully, this means you'll get formal notifications when a Pokémon is nearby and ready for capture, when gyms change hands, and more.

The Reason Why Madden Isn't On PC

The Reason Why Madden Isn't On PC

The last Madden to appear on PC was Madden 08, which was quite some time ago. Given the popularity of the sport and the number of PCs out there, it's surprising that the franchise has been AWOL on the platform. We asked Cam Weber and Matt Bilbey, both vice presidents and general managers at EA Tiburon (Madden's developer) and EA Canada, respectively on the topic in a recent Sports Desk interview.

Are we going to see more EA Sports titles on PC?Bilbey: PC is literally based on demand. There's still the high demand for FIFA on the PC globally because of the global appetite for the game. I think that's less so with Madden, but I think if that changes and an opportunity presents itself, I think we would definitely leverage the opportunity.

Weber: Yeah, I think with Madden in particular, it used to be a good business, and then it declined and the economics just didn't make sense anymore. Then the compounding problem is that I guess in the last four or five years...as we get away from PC development, it becomes more and more difficult to get back to it. We're open to it; it's just a matter of when's the right time and when does the opportunity make sense.

Fallout 4 Vault-Tec Workshop Live Stream Today, Launch Later This Month

Today on Twitter, Bethesda announced Fallout 4's fifth DLC add-on Vault-Tech Workshop will be available on July 26 for PC and consoles. Bethesda will also be showing off its gameplay for the very first time on its Twitch channel at 4PM ET.

In Vault-Tech Workshop, you can design your own vault like the one you begin your journey in, but get creative and make it entirely your own. The dwellers that decide to live in your new vault can then be experimented upon, and the option to view your vault from a side camera perspective is very similar to the layout of Bethesda's mobile app Fallout Shelter.

Apart from selling without a wait on the website, more units are going out to retails and will be used for in-store demos.

De La Soul Appearing In Angry Birds Because That's Just The Kind Of World We Live In These Days

about X hours ago from

Angry Birds Action!, the pinball spinoff to Rovio's popular series, is getting a big update. Considering the subject matter, it only makes sense that it's called the Big Pig Update. What seems a bit stranger is the inclusion of venerable hip-hoppers De La Soul. They've not only written a song for the game, but they're appearing in it as characters for a limited time.

You can hear a snippet of the new track, "Action," in the clip below. You'll also see a bunch of pigs and birds and general anger. If you like what you hear, you may want to check out De La Soul's next album, which is out August 26. Or listen to this classic track from the Judgment Night soundtrack, which seems oddly prescient.
