Minecraft Oculus Rift Support Coming In The Next Few Weeks

It’s the one-year anniversary of Minecraft on Windows 10, and the Mojang team is celebrating. Today marks the release of a new Villains skin pack and a roller coaster map, but a bigger update is on the way soon.

Minecraft is coming to Oculus Rift at long last in the next few weeks. We’ve known the game would support the Rift since Oculus Connect 2 in September 2015. It launched on Gear VR in April.

Those that own the more fully featured, PC-powered headset won’t need to pay for the update when it arrives. It’ll be delivered entirely free.

Capcom Sales Drop 25 Percent Due To Focus On ‘Minor Titles’

about X hours ago from

Capcom is backloading its fiscal year 2017 releases, pushing major games into the holiday and beyond. The company reports a significant sales dip and net loss for the first quarter of its fiscal year.

Revenues dropped 25 percent to ¥10.9 billion ($103.7 million). Combined with a foreign exchange loss of ¥1.3 billion ($12.7 million), Capcom reported a net loss of ¥1.4 billion ($13.4 million) for the quarter.

Capcom says that its sales dip was due largely to releasing only “minor titles” during the period. The company points to Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice (released in Japan on June 6) as performing as expected. The company also released the critically panned Umbrella Chronicles during the quarter.

Darksiders Is Getting ‘Warmastered’ For Current-Gen Consoles And PC

Last year, Nordic Games gave Darksiders II’s Death another shot at life in a “Deathinitive edition.” This year, the publisher gives us another oddly named update.

Darksiders “Warmastered” Edition will be out later this year for current-generation consoles and PC. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will support 60 frames per second. The Wii U edition sports 30 frames per second.

Nordic Games acquired Vigil’s Darksiders franchise from THQ’s bankruptcy. The series has laid dormant since 2012, when Darksiders II was released, with fans cautiously hopeful we’d see the final two planned installments.

Respawn Needs Help Testing Titanfall 2’s New Cloud Servers

In a new video for Titanfall 2, lead designer Jon Shiring discussed how the game's server hosting will be on multiple clouds and "bare metal" servers in order to support Titanfall 2's predictably larger launch.

The original Titanfall used Microsoft's Azure cloud for 100% of its multiplayer. Its successor will use a combination of that same cloud from Microsoft, as well as Google's cloud and Amazon's cloud. On top of that ,Titanfall 2 will also be run on "bare metal boxes," which are physical servers in data centers across the world that will be rented for certain amounts of time.

Respawn has partnered with gaming service company Multiplay in order to build this brand-new server method, which will attempt to synchronize a variety of different hosting services in order to provide seamless online gameplay for the player. In a blog post about the server change, Shriing stated "...it's an entirely new system that no game has used before, and Respawn felt strongly that we should work with Multiplay to build this new service to meet our needs."
