Assassin's Creed Odyssey Gets New Game Plus Mode This Month

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a huge, expansive adventure and you spend a lot of time making your Alexios or Kassandra as strong as possible. After spending dozens of hour doing that, you might want to head back in time and replay the game, but not any weaker than you were before. Finally, Ubisoft has heard those pleas and is bringing New Game Plus this month.

And we find this out through the age-old art of ASCII.

Respawn Confirms Some Apex Legends Heroes Are LGBTQ

Respawn Confirms Some Apex Legends Heroes Are LGBTQ

When Respawn launched Apex Legends, their free-to-play battle royale shooter set in the Titanfall universe, they introduced all the heroes with in-game and website biographies. Some of these biographies suggested that some characters are fairly diverse in terms of sexual and gender identity, which Respawn has now confirmed.

The character Bloodhound, Apex Legends' tracker extraordinaire, does not use gendered pronouns in the character bio on their website, leading fans to speculate that the character does does not identify as either gender. When asked by Rock Paper Shotgun if this means Bloodhound is non-binary, community manager Jay Frachette confirmed that fact.

The other confirmation is a lot more obvious with the character Gibraltr, a large man holding up a giant shield. In the character's bio, when talking about Gibraltr's more rebellious path, a line referring to a significant other appears: "He only began to understand the value of protecting others when he and his boyfriend stole his father’s motorcycle, took it on a joyride, and got trapped by a deadly mudslide."

Epic Games Store Version Of Axiom Verge Briefly Broken Due To Mistake With Steam File

Epic Games Store Version Of Axiom Verge Briefly Broken Due To Mistake With Steam File

Axiom Verge, the 2D Metroid-like that is itself quite well liked, is free on the Epic Game Store right now. That means that you can download it and start playing it, which many people did, only to discover there was a progress-blocking bug exclusive to the Epic Games Store version. When players entered a certain room, the game would just crash without fail. It turns out the reasons why are related to Steam and a bad case of find-and-replace.

Players started noticing the issue earlier in the day and were tweeting to Epic and developer Tom Happ over the issue. Some started speculating that perhaps Epic's launcher had something to do with it, but the answer was actually something way simpler: Happ accidentally named a sound file an inconvenient name.

For anyone missing Steam.xnb from the Epic store, please go to AV in your library, click the gear icon, Verify, then Update.
I was thinking it being Epic and all, I shouldn't include valve's dlls and such, so I excluded all files with "Steam" in the name... oops.

Capcom Given Choice To Make Dragon's Dogma 2, Decided On Devil May Cry 5 First

Capcom Given Choice To Make Dragon's Dogma 2, Decided On Devil May Cry 5 First

Dragon's Dogma is almost the definition of a cult hit. Despite not lighting the world on fire with its original 2012 release, the game slowly built up a fervent fanbase through re-releases and remasters and now has a chorus of people in constant demand of a sequel. It turns out now a Dragon's Dogma 2 might have been next month's big Capcom game if a decision were made differently.

Speaking to Hideaki Itsuno, director of most of the Devil May Cry series and Dragon's Dogma, spoke to VG24/7 about how Devil May Cry 5 came to be.

"When the discussion came up for Devil May Cry 5, I went to Kenzo [Tsujimoto, founder of Capcom] and I said I want to make either Devil May Cry 5 or Dragon's Dogma 2 next," Itsuno told the outlet. "He said okay, do whatever you want. Do whichever you want. So I thought, alright, you know what? Let's do DMC5. So we did that."

The Witcher's Geralt Lands In Monster Hunter World Today

The Witcher's Geralt Lands In Monster Hunter World Today

Geralt of Rivia is set to make his newest crossover appearance in Monster Hunter: World later today, coming as an actual character to the game and not just a usable skin. While details are still a little murky on how that works, players will be able to meet and play as Geralt in the game before the end of the day.

Along with new story content, Geralt is also bringing along some new quests centered around his background as a Witcher, a slayer of the supernatural and preternatural creatures. The White Wolf's inclusion in Monster Hunter was done in close concert with CD Projekt Red, who helped make sure the animations, cutscenes, and everything else involving Geralt was accurate to the character.

This also brings the Geralt-to-Ryu connection much closer than before, as Ryu is a skin in Monster Hunter World. Previously, the connection was Geralt in Soulcalibur VI with characters who were in Soulcalibur II with Heihachi who was in Street Fighter x Tekken with Ryu. Now it's a lot more direct, so obviously Geralt can be in Super Smash Bros., right?
