Quantum Break Coming To Steam In September, PC Retail Release Announced

Previously only available on PC via the Windows Store, Microsoft and Remedy announced today that Quantum Break will be releasing on Steam and in retail stores, with the physical PC release of Quantum Break: Timeless Collector’s Edition. They will both be available on September 14.

Both versions of the game will cost $39.99 USD. The retail release of the Quantum Break: Timeless Collector’s Edition, published in conjunction with Nordic Games, will feature a making of book and Blu-Ray, two posters, a CD of the game's soundtrack, premium packing, and five game discs, though a one-time Steam key redemption will also be required. Both versions will also come with all updates for Quantum Break.

Microsoft also announced that both the Windows Store version of the game and the digital version of the Timeless Collector’s Edition are now discounted to $39.99. For more on Quantum Break, check out our review.

Our Take
I think it'll be interesting to see how this release ends up. When Quantum Break released on the Windows Store, it was more or less a disaster. Hopefully Remedy and Microsoft have taken necessary precautions to make sure they don't see a repeat when the game comes to Steam.

Gwent's Closed Beta Slightly Delayed Until October

Players anxious to dive back into the world of The Witcher after finishing Blood and Wine are going to wait a little bit longer than anticipated. The Gwent team at CD Projekt Red announced today that the closed beta for the competitive card game will not be coming in September as they originally planned.

Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will now begin its closed beta on October 25, to give the team more time to work on the game. Players who signed up on the game's official website will receive invitations when the beta goes live. Currently the beta is only scheduled for Xbox One and PC players.

A PlayStation 4 version of Gwent will come at a later date. To read our hands-on impressions with the game at E3, head here.

The latter made it to the main event through a series of open and regional qualifiers, making their victory especially surprising.

The full schedule for today's matches is as follows. Matches begin at approximately 10am PST on Twitch (times vary depending on the total number and length of matches):

Video Game Characters Who Should Compete In The Olympics

about X hours ago from

The U.S. is already doing pretty well at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, but we’d really rake in the gold medals if we had these video game characters competing for us. Maybe it’s not too late?

Faith from Mirror’s EdgeSport: Track & field
Faith runs along buildings like she’s in a Spider-Man movie trailer and regularly outruns bullets. We bet she has a good shot at the gold.

Ezio from the Assassin’s Creed series
Sport: Diving
Ezio regularly jumps off seven-story structures into a pile of hay that’s barely soft enough for a hobo’s bed. Jumping into a giant pool of water would be a piece of cake for him.
