When Activision Blizzard founded the Call of Duty Endowment, it set a goal to assist 25,000 veterans find high-quality jobs by 2018. It has now reached that goal two years ahead of schedule.

The Call of Duty Endowment funds 10 organizations that work on the ground to pair veterans with job opportunities. Following the success in the first three years, the group has set a new target for itself.

The foundation announced a goal of placing 50,000 veterans in careers by 2019. “The Endowment’s efforts have had a direct and positive impact on the lives of so many who have given so much,” said Bobby Kotick, Activision Blizzard CEO and co-founder of the Call of Duty Endowment. “With U.S. veteran unemployment rates still well above the national average, we are committed to continuing our efforts and have established a new, ambitious goal to secure employment for 50,000 veterans by 2019.”

The NBA 2K16 face-scanning technology was good for a few laughs, but didn't do a great job of capturing your likeness. This year developer Visual Concepts is taking a new approach via its MyNBA2K17 mobile app.

2K confirmed the console version does not include the PS Camera or Kinect support this year, so users who want to scan their face must download the My NBA2K17 mobile app, which releases on iOS and Android on September 8.

In addition to the face-scanning tech, the app features the ability to win VC points daily (the virtual currency used in NBA 2K17), a MyPlayer shop for perusing console items for your created baller, a MyTeam Mobile collectible card game, and the ability to buy and sell MyTeam cards via the auction house.

We’ve already seen compelling evidence about a PlayStation 4 hardware refresh. Now it seems that the company’s streaming game service might be coming to a new platform.

Wario64, who has a penchant for sniffing out interesting news, flagged something surprising in a PlayStation Blog Europe post. In a story about PlayStation VR Worlds, embedded images are part of a Flickr album called “PS Now on PC Announce Post.” Sony regularly uses Flickr to host assets that are embedded into PlayStation Blog posts. If accurate, we suspect this will be part of the stage announcements on September 7.

United Front Games, the studio behind Sleeping Dogs and ModNation Racers, has announced Smash + Grab, a new 3v3 gang warfare game where teams compete for loot, weapons, and reputation. The rapid-fire match layout and the fast-paced gameplay is set to hit Early Access this Septmeber.

The objective of each match is to grab $50,000 in goods from the shopping district the match is taking place in, or by lifting it from the opposing team. The 15-minute matches give players the opportunity to raid progressively bigger stores and unlock new weapon mods, perks, and clothes. You can also customize your loadout and look of your gang members using the items you unlock.

The gameplay encourages creative methods and tactical teamwork to succeed. You can see the announcement trailer below.
