September's Free PS Plus Games Bring Demons And Deserts

PlayStation Plus members can get ready for some new games next week. Journey is the headlining title, but fans of the Dark Souls series might find something to like in Lords of the Fallen.

According a post on the PlayStation Blog today, those two games are just two of six games being made available soon. Journey is a meditative trek through a desert, and Lords of the Fallen is an action/RPG with an emphasis on deliberate melee combat against demonic beasts. You can read our original review of Journey here, and our review of Lords of the Fallen here.

Konami Has No Plans To Develop MGS V's Cut Mission

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was a big success, but it wasn't perfect. Specifically, the ending left a major unresolved plot thread – one that was slated to be addressed in an additional mission that was cut from the final game. Because some work had been done on the mission (including voice work and cutscenes), some fans have been holding out hope that we may see it completed and released. According to Konami, that's not happening.

In a recent exchange on Twitter, the official Metal Gear account confirmed that the company has no plans to revisit or restore the cut mission.

@NTPrime I'm afraid we have no current plans to further develop for Mission 51.

Titan Quest Anniversary Announced, Released

Titan Quest Anniversary Announced, Released

Diablo may be the biggest name in dungeon-crawling action/RPGs, but it's not the only one. Titan Quest (originally released in 2006) is one of the most underrated entries in the genre, and publisher THQ Nordic is celebrating the game's 10th anniversary in two ways: a new edition of the game, and giving away said edition for free to people who already own the original.

Titan Quest Anniversary Edition is available now on Steam, and collects the base game and its expansion into a single package. But there's more: It also sports a lot of tweaks and changes to improve the experience, so it doesn't just collect the old games.

For gamers who already have Titan Quest and/or its expansion, Immortal Throne, the anniversary edition has automatically been added to your Steam library. If you're new to the game, you can buy the anniversary edition at a special price of $5 until September 7, when it goes up to its regular price $20.

Rumor: NX Development Kit Dimensions Leaked

Though Nintendo has yet to make any formal announcement regarding the capabilities of its upcoming system (codenamed "NX"), various reports have been swirling around it for months. The latest purported info should be of particular interest to those wondering about the NX's specific dimensions.

According to Let's Play Video Games, the development unit (which could differ from the final production model) is about 11 inches wide and 3.6 inches tall (281mm x 92mm) with the controllers attached. The unit reportedly allows the sides to be detached and function as controllers, which would decrease the width.

Another interesting bit is included in the report: Apparently the NX is currently region-free, which would make it easy for owners to import and play games not released in their home territories.

Angel City To Return In Titanfall 2 As Free DLC Map

Angel City was easily one of the most iconic maps for players to stomp around in the first Titanfall (if you're having trouble remembering which one that is, it's the one in the image above). Turns out the map will be returning in the second game.

Respawn Entertainment revealed the news on its Twitter account alongside the nugget of info that those who preorder the game would get early access to the map. Respawn hasn't revealed any images or gameplay footage of the new version of Angel City in action but we'll update this article accordingly when that changes.

Titanfall 2 will be released on October 28. You can check out our impressions of the game's multiplayer here.
