Skate 3 Now Playable On Xbox One Through Backward Compatibility

Microsoft is celebrating a year of Xbox 360 backward compatibility on Xbox One this Saturday. To mark the occasion, the team has announced that it is adding one of the most requested games to the lineup today: Skate 3.

When EA's skateboarding game launched in 2010, it was well received, earning an 8.75 from us. It remains arguably the best recent skateboarding games.

Skate 3 joins Mass Effect 2 and 3 as highly requested games added to Xbox One's backward compatibility this week. Other recent additions include Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, and Red Dead Redemption.

Microsoft Rolls Out Holiday Xbox One Update

Microsoft is rolling out its holiday update on Xbox One, which adds a host of new features with an eye toward communities. Players can join and create groups, send out a widespread call for gaming sessions, check the rarity of their achievements, and more.

The update, which was available a few months back for members of Microsoft's preview program, will be available for download starting today. One of the highlights is the looking for group functionality, which was unveiled alongside the Xbox One back in 2013. With it, players can search for game sessions using a variety of filters such as whether profanity should be used, if casual play is encouraged, or if you need to have a headset attached. These can be set up in advance, too, so you can plan ahead for your gaming weekend if you're into that kind of thing.

Players can also create and join clubs, which are communities centered around common interests. Take a look at the video walkthrough below, which includes more details on those aspects of the update, as well as how achievement rarity works and, of course, the inclusion of emoji.

Play Rainbow Six Siege For Free Before Operation Red Crow DLC

Ubisoft has announced a free trial weekend for Rainbow Six Siege (November 11 to 13) on the PS4 and PC (via Uplay and Steam), and this is a preview of the game before the release of its fourth and final DLC, Operation Red Crow on November 17 (all systems).

Red Crow features a free new map in Nagoya, Japan, and two new operators (Hibana and Echo). The operators appear first to holders of the game's season pass on November 17, and then can be unlocked by everyone on November 24 with Renown or R6 credits.

Operation Red Crow deals with Japanese special assault forces trying to take down Yakuza holded up in a skyscraper.

Mega Man X3 Available Tomorrow On The 3DS Virtual Console

Mega Man X3, one of the Super Nintendo's rarest games, is making its way to New 3DS Virtual Console tomorrow.

The game will be $7.99, which is significantly cheaper than its projected value on PriceCharting.com, which places even loose copies of the cartridge without a box above the $200 mark. It's a good game, and until recently, it has been hard to come across. It was the first Mega Man X game to let you play as Zero, which is odd considering the series began with Zero as the star playable character before shifting to starring a different take on Mega Man.

You Can Play Overwatch For Free Again Next Weekend

about X hours ago from

If you still haven't checked out Blizzard's phenomenal hero shooter, next weekend will give you a taste of the competitive action for free.

The free weekend kicks off on November 18 and runs until the 21st. As with previous free weekends, participants will have access to Overwatch's full 22-character roster and all 13 maps. All of the game's modes will be available as well, with the exception of competitive play – an unsurprising decision given the leveling requirements needed to participate normally. Players can also level up and earn loot boxes during the weekend, which will carry over should they choose to buy the game. The free weekend is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

For a schedule of global start times and additional instructions, head to the official Overwatch homepage.

Watch A Speedrunner Beat Titanfall 2 In 98 Minutes

Titanfall 2 is a fanastic six-hour game but YouTuber DraQu turned it into a fantastic 98-minute game.

His latest in a series of speedruns has made him the fastest Titanfall 2 player in the world, even though the leaderboards are sparse in the game's early days. Knowing when to sprint, jump, slide, and take shortcuts are keys DraQu uses to set his record and make most normal players look like sluggish amateur pilots.
